Diane Keaton made The Godfather, one of the greatest films ever made, work. And she did so much more over more than five decades. @sonnybunch.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/diane-keat...

If you're a contestant on that show THE FLOOR, and the category is Animals, and it's your turn, and they show you a picture of a dog, and you say "Dog," then you're doing really good.

there definitely is a woman who is in the yard, no question

Surprised by some of the lukewarm reactions to this. It's not perfect, and it has one major, and not insignificant problem, but I thought it was mostly quite good.

I went to log MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 8 on Letterboxd, I wrote a one sentence, hit post, and it went into this elaborate animation, my phone beeped, as if my posting a review triggered M:I people and my review was on hold but Ethan Hunt removed that hold and my 2.5 star review was posted.

I don't know what it is, but when I buy an album that I end up not liking, I feel the loss of that money more than when I buy a book or film that winds up displeasing me. Maybe because when I buy the album I listen to it right away. With a book or film it could be years.

What albums does everyone regret buying? Loads for me, but the one that really sticks in my mind is K by Kula Shaker, which I forced myself to listen to joylessly several times in the desperate attempt to convince myself I hadn’t wasted my money, and still get cringes of regret about 29 years later.

It's one of the few albums I regret buying.
I'll Manage Somehow and Stardust are fine. The rest is mostly forgettable.

Some of the best 'Twilight Zone' episodes were written by Charles Beaumont—a writer who had an outsized influence on science fiction and horror, especially when you consider he died at 38.

Here's @faceyouhate.bsky.social on Beaumont's style and stories:
