*gets on my soap box* this idea that cis and trans women (in general) and especially cis and trans lesbians don’t have massive amounts of overlapping experiences and anxieties is a function of our oppression as women—as queer women—and is vital to resist

like cis lesbian’s attraction to women (in general) is demonized. many of the ways trans women are cast as predators is repackaged lesbophobic rhetoric.

“useless lesbian” is a meme because we all feel scared of so much as saying Hello to a girl we think is cute

i once asked a question on twitter for cis and trans lesbians to respond to basically asking how many of us felt mutually predatory towards the other and the response was nearly universal that ALL of us feel predatory towards the other

i could go on and on about this. like, how people get mistreated by the greater world (which is harsh, uncaring and refuses any and all accommodations) and then goes into a space filled with people just like them and takes out built up resentment on everyone else who is similarly struggling

some people just say shit like the person they are talking to doesn’t suffer from crippling problems themselves that they have to struggle with.

yuri manga has more examples of this kinda prince/futch gendered lesbian who can fluidly go between the masculine and feminine but also they are trapped in high school settings and slice of life stories (which isn’t bad just limiting).

getting a character like Queen is rare enough, getting her…

i kinda wanna write a futch/prince gender essay on Queen and how she’s one of the few clear cut and intentional examples of that.

so often “futch” is actually just butch-lite or “as butch as an audience can handle without getting too weird.”

admittedly i find that difficult to believe after reading Jennifer’s thoughts about Mercedes’ hair. i feel hair like that must have some kind of interactions with latent girl liking in other women on the quantum level (this is cope)
