Hilarious. Since I’ve never met you and only know Austin, I read the entire thing in his voice. It sounded just like him.

I was coming to say Hey Dudes. I have pretty sturdy feet - no support issues, and they do fine even when I walk 4-5 hours in a day.

I left ABD and haven’t had any contact with anyone from that world in two decades.

I’ve had dreams where I move like that.

Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world,... I feel like I can't take it. And my heart is just going to cave in.

As of today I've been working in the games industry for 20 years.

In the past I've done threads of little bon mots and bits of advice but I think this year I'll stick to:

make cool stuff, hope it pays the bills, help others do the same

Not if, when.

A crash is good for forcing fire sales. If you’re rich enough, it’s a buyer’s market.

One of the best pitches I ever sat in on in my years in publishing.

Canvassing. Talking to real people in person. Running registration drives in your town. The solution to a media problem isn’t media; it’s recentering people around what matters.

You can yell at the television all you want, but that will not change the content on it.

If you’re focused on what the Dems can do with messaging, you’re missing that billionaires have bought all the media outlets.

It’s time for a different kind of organizing. The pundit class is complicit.

I'm starting to think that the goal with GenAI isn't profitability at all - it's market control.

They need a massive energy sink as cheap, renewable energy comes online.

They need ways to make convincing propaganda because propaganda is all they have.

Profit doesn't matter.
fitchgames.bsky.social
There is no way to scale this that makes money. They're losing money on every video made. Even if you did hit virality with some content, it can't cover the millions of daily hits.

The economics of GenAI are truly in Enron territory - look at the latest AMD deal.

The AI industry is about to learn the hard way something the games industry learned long ago:

No amount of marketing is going to get people to use software they don’t want to use.

The reason they have to do it now is that Trump could die any day. We can all see this.

Once Trump goes, there is no support for these policies.

The lie of anyone having voted for this becomes unsustainable.
bencollins.bsky.social
Pretty clear Stephen Miller, Noem, Hegseth and Trump are trying to provoke a Civil War at this point. What's interesting is they want to do it now, because even though they're unpopular, they seem to believe this is the most popular they'll be ever again. We can't let them win.

This is a breathtaking abuse of the law and power by the President of the United States.

America is on the brink of martial law.

Do not be silent.
fitchgames.bsky.social
I don’t think people have fully processed that there’s an alternate reality factory inside the White House showing Trump video of things that are not happening.

The mad king is completely untethered to reality.
hunterub.bsky.social
This feels like evidence Trump's aides are deliberately gaslighting him, which is unfortunately very easy to do with dementia sufferers (Trump did it to his father) and which aides are using to seize control of the US military for their own purposes.

The protests are on one block. Nothing is burning down. His justification for sending in troops is all based on lies.

The thing about this administration is that it has shown how hollow and empty the GOP is.

There is no principle they are willing to stand up for other than “winning”, whatever that means.

Freedom of speech, free markets, states rights - words only.

Republicans have no spines.
fitchgames.bsky.social
Yes, exactly. Playing for the center makes sense when there’s a center. With no center, you play to your values and try to move the situation through turnout.

Playing for the nonexistent center just pisses off the people who are motivated by values.
