25 years of game development: a long, strange trip | Michael Fitch posted on the topic | LinkedIn
Hi. My name is Michael. I've been making games professionally for 25 years now. June 5, 2000, I walked into Atomic games with a leather messenger bag, a comp book, an absurd number of pens, and a w...

I'll never forget how Eka in the last minute saved us from signing a bad deal for Venba.

He gave us so much help and only asked in return was we help others like he helped us, which I'm trying my best to do, especially with emerging devs.

Reach out! There are a lot of parasites hoping you won't.
Reminder to other indie dev teams especially new teams. Most of us are happy to share advice and give feedback on publisher/funding/platform deals and terms. There are some shady predatory biz weasels that will take advantage of you as soon as your game starts to pop off. Please reach out.

“Smart people are missing out on being stupid.”

Yes, in so many ways.
dont have much more to add to everyone else's QTs other than to say this is one the dumbest things ive read in a long, long time.

i know we're not supposed to dunk in 2026, but man, fuck this.
is there a technology that "the left" is excited about?

Man, the first day back after a long weekend, especially coming off the trip to DICE, it's like putting on a suit of armor I'd gotten used to not wearing.

Also, my survey where we asked 1,000 players what game they played the most. Not what they liked best. Literally: "What game on this platform do you have the most minutes in?"

Of the thousand players asked, exactly ZERO got the answer right. Zero. Not a single one. That should tell you something.

This is not difficult, Democratic party.

Restoration of rule of law
Prosecution of criminal abuses, including corruption
Restoring the social safety net
Investing in science and rationality again
Stopping the politics of propaganda

Fumbling this makes you look like stooges.

You're still off target. The Overton window has moved.

Abolish ICE is now the moderate position.

As an opposition party, you should be going farther.
House Democrats have been clear: ICE should operate just like any other law enforcement agency.

Reform ICE now!

This really can't be shared enough - any time someone posts that "land votes" map, we should counter with this.

If there was ever evidence that it's time to go all-out in opposition mode, it's this @schumer.senate.gov @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social

People want a fight.

I cannot express how much I do not care what is being printed at the Atlantic, what the Washington Post headline is, or what’s on the opinion page of the NYT.

Prestige media can kick rocks.

Y’all were high and mighty until it mattered.

Any Democrat who looks at this data and goes “centrism seems like the rational approach” should be banned from politics forever.

Remember when Fortnite was a PvE game and they kept it around even though it wasn't doing great and at some point someone said I dunno, let's try it as a battle royale?

Imagine if Epic had just laid the team off after like four days.

So, once again, we have a cabinet official lying under oath to Congress on videotape.

What is it going to take for there to be consequences?

Anyone who will not impeach these officials is in violation of their oath of office and should be disqualified immediately.

The only reason to try to reduce voting is that you’re afraid the people don’t agree with you.

Everyone understands that what’s happening right now is a minority trying to exercise power over the majority.

That is anti-democratic by definition.

If someone is posting propaganda, sharing that post to dispute it is still spreading propaganda.

You can make your point without spreading evil bullshit.
February 7, 2026 at 3:44 PM
I am somewhere between bemused and melancholic that after a year and more than a thousand posts, the first thing that gets even a minor breakout is a reminder that the president crapped himself.

I am so not good at this social media thing.
February 6, 2026 at 4:14 PM
All of this political talk, and yet, I don't think the average American has any idea that the president shit himself during a live press conference.

I'm not sure how we're supposed to deal with that.

None of this is normal. None of this is acceptable.

Every piece of the fascist project is built around making you believe they are more powerful than they are.

They say they represent the “moral majority”, but they represent the minority.

They say they represent strength, but they are weak and scared.

This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm.

The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him.

Happy Black History Month.
