I’m a physics dude who teaches, mostly. My opinions are my own and may not reflect how I feel tomorrow. I like education, science, banjos, yo-yo’s, and feeding and housing folks. Drunk who hasn’t had one in a while. Writing https://tinyurl.com/36cwtrnx

In all of these actions there is a severe lack of people raising the issue of any alleged perpetrators facing legal action. There are many more than Andrew Windsor in the Epstein files. There appears to be a two-tier justice system where the rich and powerful are not expected to be held to account.

We’ve dismantled public education and all the libs I see are shocked the people are easily manipulated 🫠. It’s almost like America has criminalized left organizing. And trust me the Bookers and Pecks of the world aren’t exactly left.
I’ve lived in Kentucky for years seeing tons of Dutch Mitch signs… maybe it’s redlining and not poor peoples fault 🤫

Anyone have thoughts on late career business people who give back by becoming educators?
You ever feel like there’s no where you can make a difference? I’m having those thoughts today.
Mayday sounds like the candy of labor organizing and I’d totally buy that candy.
I had one professor in undergrad or grad school in a stem class that used slides and I hated that class. I wanted to know how my professors thought and slides limited this part of the educational experience. My kids don’t much care how I think.
Aside from 3 professors, Miss Frizzle and Osmosis Jones were the most important part of my science education.
I would really love a fretless banjo. Maybe I should start tutoring again.

Congress basically doesn’t exist at this point
Came here looking for this. It’s just mask off now. It’s like we are living in the rest of the world, we created, that we have been exploiting since the 1700s.
A local politician in my area is running on the idea that he’ll do anything for daddy trump. It’s pretty sad that a grown person views his goal in life as being a play thing for a man. Only another man would think this is a positive position and makes me worry for his wife.
So yes and no. In extroverted so I enjoy a captive audience (plus people don’t like talking physics), but feeling like any of this matters is tough right now.

Kind of amazing to think about how different the world might be today if PayPal had just... failed early on and shut down. You can trace so much nonsense today back to PayPal getting bailed out by eBay.
I mean capitalism the the problem, he’s a symptom of the problem and a product of the system
No Kings is a great way to meet folks who want to get organized. It’s a reasonable critique to say the protest had no demands, but it misses this reality: It’s hard to find folks who want to work toward campaigns with real material demands. Showing up and sharing what you’re doing can happen there.

Prime example of white privilege in plain sight.

Black kids get called adults to justify blame, while white adults get called “kids” to excuse their hate. They’re not boys and girls, they’re grown-ass men and women, and the receipts are in writing.
Protest went well today and it was gen x and the boomers that really showed up. Millennials, like me, were a rarity at our event.

It’s amazing how all the reporting is just memory-holing this part
