A list of UK LGBTQ+ bookshops:

This is an example of why publishers should list the publisher, as I thought the only version of the Gregory Hays translation was the US Modern Library one (978-0812968255). I would have bought this mini edition earlier if I'd known.

I went into HMV today because they have a 2 for £9 offer, and I wanted to add Hell House by Richard Matheson to my collection of haunted house books to read. But I also found Meditations by Marcus Aurelius as a mini book, as trans. by Gregory Hays (ISBN 978-1474620949).

Today marks 2 years since A LIGHT MOST HATEFUL said "run from that small town, girl, they're going to kill you"

Normally I don't post 2-year marks for my books, but I just found out this one has earned out on its advance! 🎉🎉 so an ENORMOUS THANK YOU to everyone who's chosen to escape Chapel Hill ⚡
2 Years on the Run, above the cover of A Light Most Hateful by Hailey Piper, art by Julia Lloyd, showing a red cover with lightning striking a dark silhouette. Around it are the following quotes about the book:
Gemma Amor: "will leave you breathless"
Nat Cassidy: "phantasmagoric, unpredictable"
Publishers Weekly in a starred review: "ambitious, genre-shredding"
Rachel Harrison: "a writhing-in-your-seat nightmare"
Clay McLeod Chapman: "awe-inspiring"
Eric LaRocca: "imaginative and chilling"
I Jiang: "mesmerizing"
Library Journal in a starred review: "stunning, terrifying"

New #Bookpost many thanks to @orbitbooksuk.bsky.social for a copy of Aicha by Soraya Bouazzaoui for strip into Morocco’s history and myth! Look at the art - coming March 2026 - I do like temptation!
Cover for Aicha by Soraya Bouzzaoui shows a woman holding a sword with golden tear down her face TEMPTRESS
MONSTER
WARRIOR
Presenting the powerful tale of Aicha - Morocco's warrior goddess. This is a story of female rage and lesser-known myths of strange magic, vicious rebellions and a fearless love affair.
The Portuguese flag has been planted across Morocco, its empire ruling with an iron fist. But eventually, all empires must fall.
Aicha, the daughter of a Moroccan freedom fighter, was born for battle.
She has witnessed the death of her people, their starvation and torture at the hands of the occupiers, and it has awakened an anger within her.
An anger that burns hot and bright, and speaks to Aicha's soul.
Only Aicha's secret lover, Rachid, a rebellion leader, knows how to soothe her. But as the fight for Morocco's freedom reaches it violent climax, the creature that simmers beneath Aicha's skin begs to be unleashed. It hungers for the screams of those who have caused her pain, and it will not be ignored.
A major launch for Orbit: Aicha is perfect for fans of romantic epic fantasy and myth retellings such as She Who Became the Sun, The Jasmine Throne and Circe. A red tinged pic of Aicha looking vampiric A vampiric figure surrounded by shadowy figures

The cover of They Are Still Here (Mae Nhw Yma O Hyd).

The image is of the sorceror, Gwydion, surrounded by wild animals (wolf, boar, deer) in a Celtic knotwork frame. Gwydion's hat is crowned with antlers. He carries an axe in his right hand and an oak twig in his left.

I’ve read this twice. Cried more than twice (not sure why I keep telling you that some books make me cry). I am so happy to see this in the world.

A story of queer love, video games, a creepy village, toxic friends, and a lot of hope.

When There Are Wolves Again is released today!

@catamaroon.bsky.social's new novel is a hopeful but believable dystopia, tackling speculative themes of biodiversity and environmental disaster, pandemic, justice, and our possible future, all explored in a deeply human & affecting way.

I'm so glad the book is out there and thank you so much to everyone who has supported it 🐺🤍
