I wouldn't be too sure. Portland had a white supremacist cop - Mark Kruger - with a nazi shrine who only got rewarded and promoted.

Cops who had a problem with him were witchhunted from the department.

Prosecutors would easily find a favorable jury in PDX.

I know several people who worked for IHA in IT when this happened. The job paid very well for the area but all quit because of the incredibly toxic environment that involved more covering your ass than doing tech work.

Problem is, we never really did. The Nuremberg Trials were a perversion of justice that executed and jailed a relatively small number of Nazis. It didn't come close to accountability.

The Soviets maybe came close to what was necessary but even they used them as forced labor instead of hanging.

The problem is of course that police have increasingly seized and thrown away identification documents in recent years and you need a lawyer to have a copy and the hope that you'll be able to contact them.

This week in 1988: 1,000+ ACT UP demonstrators shut down the FDA headquarters, demanding (and eventually winning) action on developing HIV/AIDS treatments. ACT UP's militant and creative actions always included powerful visual artwork, and paved the way for movements in the decades to come.

I know one case where they took keys (for opening and closing the thrift store) from one queer person because that was considered "leadership"

This data breach is significantly bigger than was initially let on. 70,000 government IDs have been compromised.
