Weird, if it affects work productivity, shouldn't employers be paying for replacements?

Finally had a moment to profile the inimitable Rebecca Heineman, aka Burger Becky (1963–2025). In addition to developing and porting many great games, Heineman helped so many young trans programmers and developers with their careers. A truly selfless person!

The amendment passes!

Staff will be asked to prioritize replacement of vandalized baby-change tables with more resilient materials, or putting them in more secure areas in the same facility.

ABC councillors keep throwing the deputy city manager who raised this under the bus, which is amusing.

ABC councillors saying that it's "unfortunate" people are linking closed baby change tables as being political, or part of the budget.

But it was a deputy city manager that explicitly raised removing them from high vandalism areas as part of cutting the budget for maintenance of civic facilities.

An amendment by Lisa Dominato asks staff to prioritize the replacement of vandalized baby-change tables.

Ironically, during her amendment a baby in the council chambers began babbling very loudly.

No doubt they were trying to shout "point of order!" with a further amendment to the amendment.

Brooks told the court Linehan had called them a "sissy porn-watching scumbag", a "groomer" and a "disgusting incel", to which the complainant had responded: "You're the incel, you're divorced."

And yet no murder charges...

The continued existence of surveillance cameras is incompatible with freedom.

If that is not corrected, we will all be damned. "We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward."

And we're never going to have any sort of formal recognition that describes how horrific conditions were.

Or even a comparison of names of those they endlessly gatekept / booted from care after their first visit vs the names listed as suicide deaths.

The lack of history is injustice.

BC passed a 4 month owner's use eviction notice - and shortly after, dropped it to 3 months notice because new buyers had issues securing mortgages. And existing owner's use was "normalized" to 3 months.

Interesting that Ontario didn't do 3 months #Governing unless they're going to change it soon.

And god forbid the legislators and their staff take the time to define whatever "evidence satisfactory to the Minister" (of residency and citizenship) is.

Leaving things undefined / arbitrary and opening the door for capricious denials is what apparently passes for fucking governing...

"Controversial Housing Bill"

No details on the changes.

It's an omnibus bill but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

At least mention the funding expansion for sheriffs while the residential tribunal gets the finger.

Or the Photo Card Act amendment making ID renewals harder.

In practice, we already have examples - plural - of 1st degree murder charges being stayed due to charter violations related to prison overcrowding with quotes like "The unthinkable has come to pass" being written by judges.

I guess they want Russian style jail overcrowding? ffs.

Some people - by virtue of the sum of their previous actions - don't deserve endless benefit of the doubt.

These people revel in the ambiguity created by their wording. Wes knows exactly what he's doing.
