Like, before I knowingly met my first trans person (I'd met stealth ones before that, I later found out) I had what I suspect is the standard well-meaning ignoramus' attitude of "trans women are weird blokes, but they're doing no harm". But as soon as I met on it was just "oh OK, she's a woman. Duh"

The really odd thing is that all it takes is to meet one (1) trans woman for this to be blatantly obvious if you're not deliberately and willfully hateful.
