Plus I don't think there is going to be a single person buying this set who doesn't own multiple copies of the track in its original mix. Nobody is going to buy a twelve-disc set based around Lennon's worst album if they don't already have *everything*.

I would be furious at them leaving it off s straight reissue of the album, because that's presenting something as the artist's intent when it wasn't. But this is a new work based on the old.

As I said when this was announced, I'm OK with them leaving the song off because this doesn't pretend to be a historical document. It's explicitly new mixes of stuff, and 2025 is not 1972.

Interesting choices in the book for the Lennon box. No mention at all of "Woman is the..." or the choice to drop it, except in multiple photos of the original album cover. But they *do* include Frank Zappa talking candidly about how Lennon and Ono ripped him off for their release of the live jam.

LA is actually an album I'm quite surprised hasn't been reevaluated with the popularity in recent years of yacht rock. It's a *really* good example of the genre, and I'd put it in my personal top ten Beach Boys albums.

Today's vinyl is one of those two "any good" post-77 Beach Boys albums, 1979's LA (Light Album). Where MIU was mostly Mike and Al with token participation by Carl and Dennis, this is basically a Wilson brothers album, with one track each from Mike (not great) and Al (really pretty good).
