this kid is going places. "english folklore" has the same syllables and stress pattern as "motherfucker", not to mention "folk" does the same labial-dental-fricative-to-velar-plosive thing that "fuck" does, and "lore" neatly takes the place of "-er."
My 7 year old just reached for a piece of pizza fresh out of the oven and exclaimed, in the same tone as an adult swearing…

“English folklore, that’s hot!”

I choked laughing ENGLISH FOLKLORE AS A SWEAR? WHO ARE YOU?!?

A good video, but presumably trying to dispel concerns about the appointment of a Meta lobbyist as the Data Protection Commissioner. Also, putting the burden on parents, not on the companies is a familiar tactic.

Complaint v Ireland to European Commission re process appointing ex-Meta lobbyist as Data Protection Commissioner

Compelling warning by Ireland's Data Protection Commission, originally posted to Instagram. The risks, and threats are progressively, and exponentially worse as generative AI is used against material featuring (your/our) children, incl. in production of CSAM/CSEM. www.instagram.com/reel/DRcD5Fi...

This is possibly my favorite product answer yet:

Q: Will this deodorizing spray get rid of dead animal smell?
A: Yes, but you need to remove the dead animal or you will need to keep applying it.

I helped a bit as a narrative consultant on HORSES working with a couple of the good folks at Santa Ragione. I hope you'll check it out, it's really like nothing else I've played before.
Our upcoming game HORSES was preemptively banned from Steam, with no path to appeal. The game will still launch next week on December 2nd and will be available on EGS, GOG, Humble, and Itch for $4.99. Here is a detailed FAQ covering what happened: horses.wtf/BannedFromSt...

The tiny hobbit can say “big mess” so now we are working on the word “capitalism”. They talk about sleep deprivation, school drop offs, endless snack supply running but they don’t talk about how hilarious it is when a 2 year old says: captilim is beeee mess

this made me wonder: why is it that so many people are intensely radiophobic but those same people tend not to give a shit about covid/flu mitigation, when both involve "invisible things that can hurt or kill you" but people are lackadaisical about the one they're infinitely more likely to meet?
I feel a certain level of [facepalm] at the amount of rad explainer they felt they needed to do rather than discuss the lab/museum itself more, but such is dealing with a radiophobic public.

NOTE: a lot of thick glass covered surfaces in shot

And, man, just can't decon wood. We sure have tried.

my previous shitty job only ever brought in food or pizza when they fucked us over and we all knew it so this is a great sign
Spoke with a source who told me the call volume is so high, a call center for both Mastercard & Visa is bringing out pizza and ice cream so agents don’t quite amid the rush. Long waits are causing dropped calls.

What you’re doing is working. Call MC & Visa.

i've seen people making the argument that it's a result of everyone being broke now, but like, this round was set off in part by piracy of an indie ebook that was on sale for 99 cents

there is a vast and deep well of genuinely free, no-piracy-needed stuff out there
I imagine most of the people trying to claim that stealing indie ebooks is leftism simply have never had to worry about paying rent or for groceries but sorry, your desire for free luxury goods is outweighed by the material needs of their creators

After publishing this article, I've heard from many that CR seems to be using AI to produce dub CCs. Now, thanks to a slip-up CR had with episode 6 dub of The Banished Court Magician, we can say that with 100% certainty: Crunchyroll is using the AI service Ollang.com for its dub closed captions!
