I mean the solution would be to nationalize all energy generation and infrastructure because it's a low-competition sector with a high barrier to entry that's extremely necessary for society to function.

Then we can legislate that the steam turbines must be lubricated with the blood of the rich.

Gonna become one of those "The Middle Ages never happened, it's a conspiracy" people, except for the year 2025. I just choose to believe nothing that happened in this calendar year actually occurred. If you try to tell me any of it happened, I will kick you in the crotch and denounce you on socials

My favourite bit of the Lee "Scratch" Perry bio I used as my principal source for this Patreon bonus is just how cordially Perry and Chris Blackwell disagree about "Judgement In A Babylon", which has lyrics like "Chris Blackwell is a vampire" and "He give Bob Marley cancer".

nuclear power nutters tend very knowledgeable and they know their stuff but occasionally they overdo it

got one who was clearly obsessed but hiding his power level somewhat, and then he got to "and all shipping has to go nuclear, we'll just have nuclear fuel handling at every port and"

we had to make it kill puppies to get the funding, but that's the price of business in these trying times
gonna get ten billion dollars in venture capital to build a 100 acre Magic 8 Ball centre that runs on racks of millions of Magic 8 Balls across six floors

it's the future

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

i've just written the script for today's episode, it's about this exec order.

they literally plan to have robots controlled by AI agents doing nuclear experiments.

i'm sure this will be fine.

The true crowning achievement is that the *host* herself hadn't read nor watched HARRY POTTER and thus didn't really know how to say a lot of the names. The culture, it is a changing.
there was a question at the literary quiz last night about ranking Harry Potter characters (other than the main three) by the number of lines of dialogue they have in the book, and i'm proud to say everybody got it completely wrong.

To expand on something @davidgerard.co.uk says there, the numbers on those “also ran” charts are incredibly low now, I mean we hit no.1 on the UK Hip Hop chart with <500 sales just two months ago, yet to hit no.3 in the same chart in 2013 took thousands.

Nope.

It is LITERALLY the first thing I would do if I was a billionaire. I would form a company, hire all my friends and a shitload of logistics 'officers', buy a venue. Get uniforms. The full works.

Money is wasted on people like Musk.
Has anyone ever played the full version of The Campaign for North Africa all the way through?

Like, documented?
Still the greatest rule in any wargame in history.
