Legend: This church is heir to the largest Protestant church in Tianjin before 1949, the Wesley Methodist chapel founded in 1872, which in 1913 moved to number 201 in what is now Bingjiang Road. Renamed the “Bingjiang Road church” in 1949, it became known as the Shanxi Road church when it moved to a new building in 1966 following renovations on Bingjiang Road.
