It was a lifer in the spring when one burst out of the nearest tree, Merlin picked up the song, but there was no chance for a photo. It never showed up again until today. 😅

Sometimes a Mourning Dove wants to enjoy the feeders like the smaller birds. It's hard. 🪶

A mourning dove is trying to keep its balance on the baffles above and below a feeder.

As I don't traipse around in the woods now, I have always counted the ids from the songs. They are often seen later, but if the song matches it matches. A screech owl id after an ambulance went down the road, no. Right now some birds might just be flying over in the migration routes.
