just like images coming out of a magic black box called generative AI doesn't launder what went into it from being stolen, it doesn't launder what you ask it to do from being as fucked up as making it yourself would be. you just have something else to blame and less time spent reflecting on yourself

i even saw someone claim the hedge maze is a recreation of area zero's intended path your first time through but i can't easily verify that when no one cares enough to have drawn and uploaded a map that i can find that can muscle past auto generated images of a big red arrow pointing to the crater

and it's where the sunflora finding game is so you *have* to look around and notice all the playgrounds and gardens, the boardwalk, the pool, the hidden diner patios, the gym leader's sculptures (with backstory), the hedge maze, the food carts...

of course this being SV you can jump over the maze

i love artazon's variety of social activity spots (that are just there for decoration or hiding item balls from the camera, but still) and the running gag with the signs on the way there, more of the game could've been like that if it didn't have to be so damn huge

not just skippable terrain features and no interactables/puzzles but entirely skippable trainers who'll happily just let you walk by too. and they're so weak you could've gotten more exp from two or three wild encounters in the same amount of time. feature so embarrassed by itself it just disappears

(i still feel weird criticizing the indigo disk too much around people who don't know exactly where i'm coming from because getting hundreds of lines of new optional dialogue for the cast from the league club *was* absolutely miraculous, don't get me wrong, just stretched too thin between them all)

now i'm even more confused how the terarium came to be when it was so clearly not designed to be underwater and they just quickly added a country sized dome over it that perfectly simulates the sky to half-assedly sell the idea

the "elevator" doesn't even have a shaft going up to the surface!

update: and apparently making two more open worlds (and fixing the already struggling overworld engine so it'd even support them) and a second cast instead of just finishing the story in a satisfying way or fixing the performance issues went way over budget to the point it cost as much as all of PLA
