For those who don't know me: I exist in a liminal space of wanting to engage and talk to people about interesting things but abhor being observed. It makes my skin crawl. As a result, I guard how people interact with and about me fairly tightly.

If you're not sure and you want to be careful, ask.

(2/2) As they arrive, one of the other members jests "I wonder what gossipmongering will he get up to here?" and the oracle turns to him and replies "I find your joke in bad taste. Must we camp in this graveyard tonight? Are there no towns nearby to better rest in?" The others look around in horror.

(1/2) In one of the stories I've written and may never share, there's this reoccurring theme of an oracle character in the party intervening in small ways as they stop at villages because he sees their futures not the present. It's annoying to the other party members right up until a specific town.

While they were signed in January 2023, as the Nov 2023 agreement was a successor agreement that went into effect then and ST halted production until after the strike completed, I'm not sure if they weren't still covered by the new terms; their original agreement likely had cut-outs for union terms.

Yeah, that's about what the figures work out to. That puts them at 8-10% *less* than what most movies expect to spend on the above-the-line talent.

Assuming that the contracts are signed under the newer 2023 SAG-AFTRA agreement, then yes. One of the major sticking points of the agreement was a new formula for residuals from streaming platforms that accounted for how it differed from classic TV.

High, but not as outlandish as you'd think:

Between $600-750k per episode per actor from what I was reading. A far cry from season 1's $25k.

Articles are being written about Stranger Things' final season costing half a billion but frankly that number makes sense; That's around 45mil per episode and they're doing 90-120 minute episodes. Season 4 had movie-grade FX and cinematography. Frankly, I think they're being pretty cost efficient.

Truly that man is aging like hot cheese in the sun, and it's because the evil is baking him from the inside out. Someone needs to vote this dollar general McConnell out before he finishes his transformation into Igor.

Republican Senators, with an assist from Sen. John Fetterman, voted down an attempt to block the Trump administration’s missile strikes on alleged Venezuelan drug boats. interc.pt/4o9CBur
A photo of Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., sits on the steps of the U.S. Capitol on Oct. 1, 2025, in Washington, overlaid with the headline, "Fetterman Is Sole Democrat to Vote Against Blocking Caribbean Drug Boat Attacks," and the DEK, "It was the first time members of Congress were put on record about whether they supported or opposed the president’s war in the Caribbean."

I'm really thinking my next fashion hyperfixation may be making and wearing waist sashes... There's a part of me that keeps seeing them and thinking "I could pull that off... I could be wearing one right now..."
gaudipern.bsky.social
"But that's not what fine means!"

Yeah it is. When you ask someone how they're doing and they say "fine," what does that mean? Right, right, it means "none of your goddamn business, thank you for asking but don't ask any more." Glad we both understand that.
gaudipern.bsky.social
Something I need men to get: When I say something is "fine," I mean "the consequences of that have already played out and I don't intend to dwell any further on it." I don't mean I forgive you, I don't mean I want to dig something out of me, I mean I'm done with it and you need to let it be.
gaudipern.bsky.social
"Well, I have that quality too and I'm fine with it!"

Yes, and that's called internalization. You recognize that some sector of society has turned something about you into an insult and because you feel you are positioned safely out of range, you don't see the harm in letting others weaponize it.
gaudipern.bsky.social
A lot of folks struggle with this idea:

If you turn some quality into an assault on people you don't like, you have communicated to the people you *do* like who have that quality that the only thing protecting them from the same treatment is that you favor them... and that's bigotry in a nutshell.

I wrote from scratch a C-based 2D tilemapped game engine with shader effects using SDL and OpenGL ES in 24 hours because my laptop burnt out and took all my work with it as I walked up to the podium for final presentations for a semester long project.

I wrote a 15 page report on heraldic symbolism in medieval armor and weapon design for my art history class the night before it was due (8am class). Made up 90% of it (only found one book for reference) and got an A. GenAI could fucking never.
wrote 20 pages on Faulkner's The Bear four hours before final papers were due on trucker pills and coffee and cigarettes and got an A, fuck you.
You people couldn't hang with real slackers.

As a musical performer, I doubt your credentials with regards to any civil rights stance you take if your catalogue of music settles for describing the problems without ever suggesting any solutions. We know the problems that afflict us, and hearing a rad song listing them is a palliative at best.

One thing I don't see a lot of game critics really delving into: We all agree that GamerGate and gamer subcultures have been a pivotal component of this current era... But what you don't see discussed is which games shaped those cultures from a literary movement standpoint. Whose voices are these?
