Bunch of fucking worthless trolls, the lot of them. Probably too afraid they might accidentally vote to release some files.

I went searching for Republicans in the Capitol. Turns out they’re not in Washington to keep the government open or protect your health care.
Republicans are no where to be found to keep the government open or protect health care!

Couldn't make it, was teaching. The Prez should like that since she has been, shall we say, less than committed to a robust research presence

(2/2) and just a reminder that for parents who want their kids to hear tunes of other eras, WFUV, WXPN, WBJB, WFMU, and my all time fav, WPRB - these are just a handful of stations that bring the eclectic to all of us FOR FREE and they need all of our help. Donate any dollars you can.

@wxpnfm.bsky.social Thanks for making a space where artist like Zinadelphia, Michigander, Tune Yards, and Emily Drinker hang out to listen along with the fans. Got to tell all of them that they rocked!

Hey @wxpnfm.bsky.social How about marking the early entrance gate for #xpnfest clearly! We ended up way further back in the general admission line because it wasn't. WTF?

I am a scientist, through and through, but there can be room for more than that. Especially in these times in this place. Thank you @wxpnfm.bsky.social for making #xpnfest happen and bringing some joy.

I cannot understand how you voted in favor of the Kirk bill. He wanted trans people off the streets, as do some of your colleagues. I don't understand what you hoped to accomplish here. See Chamberlain prior to WWII for context. Appeasement does not work.

Critical part of the President's new $100,000 charge for H1-B visas: The Administration can also offer a $100,000 discount to any person, company, or industry that it wants. Replacing rules with arbitrary discretion.

Want visas? You know who to call and who to flatter.

When Charlie Kirk, who put together lists of professors he didn't like so people could target and harass them, used the phrase "free speech", he meant it in the same way creationists talk about "teaching the controversy." For Kirk, it was just another way to bludgeon the left and promote propaganda.

I cannot fully put into words what publishing this Review has meant to me, so I leave you with how we closed the paper.

If pundits would like to talk about violence, a terrorist recently shot up the CDC and another assassinated Democratic officials in Minnesota but they sort of let both stories disappear

Not as threatening as motorbikes in DC I know but maybe we could circle back?

Yeah, because ethics schmethics amirite? The looks I got for suggesting that Pharmaceutical Science students take an ethics seminar on drug pricing and accessibility. Whoof.

First, they came for our DEI grants & we were advised to keep our grants "clean" of DEI words.

Then, they came for Harvard & many thought this was an elitist problem.

Now they are demanding that a PUBLIC university (UCLA) pay a BILLION DOLLARS.

We need to pay more attention to that damn poem.

Cool study on aerotolerant methanogens! Options they might protect themselves from O2 include biofilm formation in response to O2 exposure and antioxidants (F420-H2-oxidases, rubredoxins, thioredoxins, and peroxiredoxins). This opens up a vareity of new possible habitats for methanogens.
