Daniels isn't that versatile while we are at it. He can't guard up. He has trouble staying in front of guys but makes up for it with great hands and gambling. Lots of steals and deflections does not a versatile defender make. Give me Caruso over him for versatility.

Giannis is not nearly as versatile as his rep. Guarding wings and down on the perimeter he's like a baby deer on ice. His superpower as on the weak side with a shot blocking 3. That's how he won DPOY.

I was watching the OKC/IND game and the high five was overturned on review by some technicality where the same play was called a foul a couple minutes earlier

The high five foul is weird. I've seen it called both ways in pre-season already. I understand its intent, to keep guys from closing out too aggressively and injuring shooters, but I think it is going to cause a lot of confusion to start the season.

Only preseason but Trae is showing what you need from him on D:

* effort

* understands where he needs to be

That's all you can ask of him. He will *always* be a liability on D. But that squad ATL built around him is loooong and can easily cover up his deficiencies.

I hope he gets the opportunity to figure it out. That is one of the things that interests me about this season, how much space Joe will give some of these guys to grow.

These bigs won't replace KP or Al's shooting. I think the best path is replicating how effective Kornet was in the roll last season. But, yeah rebounding could be a problem all year. Q often seems out of position or reads the ball poorly off the rim. Given his tools he should be better.

Very few current NBA players can manipulate a defense like Trae Young. I can think of 3 off the top of my head:
