This is also partly why the frog suits work in a way that the (often homophobic, ableist, body shaming) mockery of MAGA doesn’t. The frog suits are mocking the ICE goons, but by using their brutality against them.

The Ms Rachel hate makes me sad but it’s also fascinating. All she’s doing is treating Palestinian children as worthy of respect and kindness, and she’s doing it with a smile on her face.

I think we’re so used to toxic positivity that we are taken aback by the real deal.

There's a huge gap between what MAGA media is depicting in Portland and what local journos are reporting. The term "provocateurs" is a euphemism. It implies they're doing plucky political theater designed to needle and provoke as opposed to manipulate and deceive. 4/

NYT piece calls these MAGA types "provocateurs." It describes "dueling versions of reality." Both are common MSM tropes.

But these are not provocateurs. They're propagandists. Only one side is employing deliberate deceptions on a vast scale for instrumental ends. 3/

Was just at a neighborhood school at dismissal. Hundreds of people with whistles surrounding the school and stationed down every block making sure ICE doesn’t snatch anyone. The same is happening at all the schools around here. I love my neighborhood and I love Chicago.
