statstically speaking if you get me/cfs from long covid your doctor is not going to help, and yr actual medical advice will come from ppl like me who've spent the last 5 years reading medical papers.

you do not want someone who can no longer type the word "statidtically" to be your replacement doc.

also probably worth mentioning that was medium format lol

the roll i shot was ektachrome. the blues on it don't translate to digital at all. it has this massively massively dense sky-blue-cyan pigment yet every colour is also relatively true-to-life in spite of that. it doesn't feel like a "cast" as much as you get on colour negative if that makes sense
heatherfeather.bsky.social
the colour gamut and dynamic range of high-density slides is really something that only comes through easily in person. like a printmaking process using vibrant inks that don't reproduce well across media

fuji has basically pivoted 100% to their instant film market :(

i didn't "get" slide film until i developed it myself. they look significantly different on a good light table or held up to daylight than they do on a screen. i wish the cibachrome process was still around for true prints of slides

once upon a time we had fuji natura 1600

imagine being the child in the rise against "audience of one" video and being hired specifically because you look like a political cartoonist's idea of an eight-year-old george w bush

you know, the Bank of Montréal, the Royal Bank of Canada, the Bank of Canadian Tire
heatherfeather.bsky.social
Canadian Tire is a retail chain staple across rural and suburban canada that sells all types of general merchandise. and also wholly owns an entire bank that issues credit cards to their customers
heatherfeather.bsky.social
"The Canadian Tire Bank" is not a sentence that exists in a just world

there are many possible thoughtful ways to critically interrogate art tied to authoritarian regimes

but "hey check out this thing (no mention of the political circumstances)" and "hey check out this thing (boilerplate message that doesn't affect the actual criticism)" are both not it

our enemies are often the exact same people. it's all one fight, not metaphorically, but literally

trans people, we all need solidarity with chronically ill & disabled people because the discrimination playbook is 100% identical

one of the biggest names in trans healthcare discrimination is also one of the biggest names in ME/CFS healthcare discrimination (Simon Wessely) & as a trans person with ME/CFS i'm begging all of us to make this intercommunity connection

The IDF took 3D animations from the Scottish Maritime Museum, a cyberpunk project and other places to make shit up about Gaza, Lebanon and Iran and these were reproduced in international outlets for the past 2 years.

NEW: Since October 2023, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit has released dozens of 3D animations illustrating alleged Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian sites

The style is now unmistakable: satellite zoom-ins, black & white wireframes, and red-textured houses - a new visual language of war

taking suggestions

right now i'm thinking it might be worth trying a beta blocker that is both b1 selective (cardioselective) and vasodilating (metoprolol is not)?

The media's really just going to bounce over the fact that at Trump's meeting today they said "we've been fighting antifa for a hundred years, since they tried to stop us in 1930s Germany" and everyone nodded along, huh

he won't prescribe me pyridostigmine. he won't prescribe me ivabradine (although i wouldn't be able to afford it regardless). i'm still having massive low blood pressure problems from the metoprolol that i'm pretty sure are interfering with my sleep although my HR is controlled

does anyone remember what i should be asking the internist about tomorrow
