there is a worship of physique and manual labour in some dyke places (online) that sometimes feels aligned with an unspoken belief in the superiority of people with able bodies or a possibly a "meritocracy" view of physical fitness

weird how crows and ravens get an association with Darkness and Nighttime when those guys don't even want to leave their roost when the weather is sorta shitty and they are almost always in bed before sundown

thinking about the one time someone tried unsuccessfully over about 4 hours to pick me up with some pretty gay-guy-coded flirtation and it just totally passed me by that any flirting was even attempting to happen. like, sorry, you were dialing in at the wrong frequency 😭

in western medicine the burden of proof for calling an illness "psychosomatic" is so low that it's basically free. as long as you don't literally see someone bleeding out the ears you can just say "you're making it up" and it's considered a legitimate explanation with 0 repercussions if you're wrong

this is one overview on why increased physical activity is not safe in ME/CFS. you can't safely undergo activity when your body will start slowly disintegrating if you go over some unknown activity threshold (that we currently have no way to measure).
a self-perpetuating cycle that includes damage to the mitochondria and necrosis (cell death) of muscle tissue.

This investigation doesn’t actually look at whether kids are actually just sick more often, which they are. Chronic illness isn’t mentioned either.

Despite the data encompassing 2018/19 to 2024/25, the pandemic isn’t even mentioned.
