Over the years he'd been subject to all manner of Mycroft's surprise attacks, enough to recognize when he meant business. "Mycroft..." he said slowly. "It's me."
"But who are 'you' exactly?" Mycroft asked. “Your resemblance is so convincing that I thought at first this was some sudden leap in maturity on your part, but now I'm certain—you aren't my brother any more than your fiancé is who he claims to be."
Sherlock sucked in a breath. He had anticipated that Mycroft might be suspicious of him, but he hadn't expected it would extend to William as well.

And yet, the Cainites in it form a unified group whose movements work towards a unified goal. Sure, they are *terrorists* about it. But it WORKS.
There are fights. People don't get along. But in the end, their wills come together and create a reality that everyone is happy to live in.

But something that struck me this time, was how the phrase "The Sword Takes All Kinds" started popping in my head in non-LARP contexts. The Sabbat has a unifying ideology, yes, but within that, there are MANY ways to be a monster. Often conflicting ones.

I LARP in a Sabbat LARP. Sabbat are the evil vampires of the genre. Like. They do some truly horrendous things. Past games have really opened my eyes to the power of playing a MONSTER - and how sometimes if you are a monster, wearing that on your sleeve can be better.

Know what you want to say.

If you don’t know yet, that’s okay! I often figure that out in the process of writing around the point.

I do not share that version with people typically. I figure it out first.
