And there's really no excuse for it since there's so much literature and academic scholarship on AAVE that easily points this out. But this was never about being knowledgeable and informed and always about devaluing Black culture via new age assimilation and cultural genocide.

My ribs did not turn out good today. I put foil under neath them so they wouldn't brown so fast. But the juices built up and the ribs were steaming more than grilling. When I took the foil away, that's when the flare up started. I will not do that again. Thoughts?

I continue to silently fume that REBUILD does not get money thrown at it based on all of the work that the team is and has been doing over the years. It's a struggle every single year to raise the necessary money to keep the program going. This year is even more difficult.

Dear President Obama,
I saw in your statement you said "Israeli families" & "the people of Gaza."
Palestinians have families, too.
This kind of language contributes to dehumanization. Dehumanization is part of what caused so many to stay silent as 20,000 children were killed in this genocide.
I've sat with wonderful Palestinian families from Gaza. They look at their children just like we look at ours - with all the love & hope in the world.

Thank you! I can't believe how much more shoes cost than they used to and they're made of...I don't even know what. The fake suede is like fleece covered cardboard and the fake leather cracks & peels! Even if you use a filter for leather, polyurethane shoes will be included. It's awful! Awful!
