Axyz was made somewhat in mind to hide a lot of my shortcomings, so I'm trying to push myself this time.

The biggest struggle I'm finding is keeping things to the right scale!

I think the arts council still have a ways to go in what they consider games to be. I know of many people who have tried to apply for this in the past (myself included) and have been all but told that they don't consider games to be art 😭😭😭

IDK seems like a more surefire investment than giving tech companies that have all hopped on the AI bubble(which even Sam Altman admits is due for an implosion) investment/tax breaks or spending on legal fees to support Apple in EU court so *shrugs*

Yeah I just didn't have enough proof of work and ran out the appeals period. I do wonder about people who are specifically working in art for games and particularly freelancers who fit the model of work this is aimed at supporting better than a more dev focused person.

Probably still worth applying next September. I certainly will be considering alll the games funding in Ireland is aimed at developing a studio/business which is not the route I'm looking to go right now..

IDK I failed my application last time because they said I didn't have enough proof of work and I had just sprained my wrist the day I found out. Was in a lot of pain and unable to focus enough to amend my application during the appeals period due to the pain and poor mental health.

So... maybe???

From what I read on it today with the budget announcements they decided to keep it a lottery system with only 2000 people able to receive it (potentially increased to a whopping 2200 at some point).

It pays for itself you could just give it to everyone?????????

Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

I agree with others about the Broken Sword vibes Monkey Island always had more cartoony proportions and art direction imo. Great work though I look forward to following dev!
