yeah, i usually prefer to eat in airport or lounge, but sometimes the timing isn't right and i hate carrying yet another food bag. such are the trials and tribulations of modern air travel, lol
iamvishnurajan.bsky.social
I was thinking about that - but then why does nearly every safety video have that line "look around to identify the nearest exit, keep in mind it may be behind you" etc. Anyway, just a dumb lil thought exercise I was having as I was sitting here.

these candles smell like apple and black cherry, the green ooze is there to disgust your enemies and thwart you from trying to bite into it because of how delicious it smells

A photo of three of my “bad apple” pillar candles. one’s on a white dish being held up by a cute ghost, the other two are in front - one of which is lit. They are red wax spheres, with a green ooze like wax on them. in the background is a real apple

I use the word "sticker" somewhat loosely here but there are plenty of other labels that are not easily moveable in an aircraft. It could also simply be part of the IFE screen so it is digital and not a fixture.

Yes - this is what I was wondering also - like there *has* to be a reason they don't make it obvious given how well researched and tested aviation safety is worldwide.

I mean, I get that it is different for each row, but it is pre-determinable by row. And should not be that hard to sticker/label.

While I'm talking about travel, I do usually id the nearest exit and it dawned on me - why don't they put a lil sticker on the seat back telling you which way to go (forward or backward) to reach the closest exit? Like, it is a pre-determinable item, no? Why leave it to the passenger to figure out?

United used to have a salad on the onboard menu in coach. It was terrible and was either frozen because they hadn't thawed it, or room temperature because it had been hanging out. But it was a vegetable. All they have now is carbs, meat, or cheese.

I'm one of 3 people that prefers EWR as far as NYC airports because it has multiple highway paths in/out. The refurbished Terminal A is pretty good as well. I agree Terminal C or the baggage claim leave a lot to be desired.

I learned what this is here in the airport after seeing this sign and looking it up. What a cool technology.

On the bright side, I'm expected to reach EWR at about 145am and then have about a 90 min drive home. This is as good as it gets nowadays.

UPDATE: The new Prime Minister that Macron just named is... Sebastien Lecornu.

Lecornu is the Prime Minister who Macron appointed in September, and who resigned on Monday because he couldn't form a government.

I don't know what to tell you—situation has been risible for a year.

I almost ordered a soda here but got a zero proof pineapple ginger cocktail and it's pretty good
iamvishnurajan.bsky.social
I recently had actual prickly pear cactus fruit and found it really good! I almost never buy airport stuff but perhaps may consider an exception here
iamvishnurajan.bsky.social
Anyway, I have like a 5 hour wait here due to flight delays so some completely mid travel posts will be incoming
iamvishnurajan.bsky.social
I found the airport restaurant I ate in about 4 years ago, and amazingly, I'm seated at the same table again and it's the same waitress, lol

I was telling someone yesterday (oddly enough about a work item), the people who disappoint you the most are the ones you love and care about, because you want better for them. Anyway, those are also my thoughts about the Phillies, Kerkering, and Eagles this week.
iamvishnurajan.bsky.social
it sucks, because I'm usually pretty good with jet lag but my body somehow never really toggled this week
iamvishnurajan.bsky.social
this entire dang week, my wake up times ranged between 330am and 350am. the ~two hours of sleep after that initial wake up was consistently not that great.
iamvishnurajan.bsky.social
Due to time zone changes, I first woke up at 330am 👍

of the different hotels I've ever stayed in, I believe this is the first where I'm *directly* across from some kind of industrial chemical products facility
