Funny because I was just watching this interview with Baldwin talking about how, as he grows older, he knows less and less about human nature and how it is a "great relief." I hear that loud and clear.

"Learn how to read," they said. "Been around as a means of communication for thousands of years," they said. Seemed like a safe bet, and everyone was doing it when I was a kid. Reading books, newspapers, magazines, whatever. Writing stuff all the time. I went all in. What a waste of time that was.

minor bugbear but I'm starting to get annoyed by the "know who was antifa? Winston Churchill (or whoever)" meme.

The opposition to fascism at the street level didn't come from national figures / armed forces. It came from motivated usually left wing groups working with the people who lived there.
