None of us are entirely objective, we all have biases and times where we accept what is convenient rather than what is true, but I hope to hell that if I ever post something fake and someone points it out my response will be to delete it, not argue that it doesn't matter that *this* example is fake.

I just saw one of the hashtag resistance post a weird AI image that included the text "No Kings 10:18" and I'm not sure if this is a planned event or them expressing their opposition to a bible verse about a king building a throne of ivory and gold. Either fits tbh.

well, it depends what the aim is. Farage's friends in Restore Trust want to take over the National Trust, for a number of reasons but including wanting to reverse the National Trust opposition to fracking. If they can make the existing Trust board look Looney Left it makes them more removable.

Don’t feel stupid if you fell for fake video. It can be really hard to tell these days. But we do have to try and be careful with what we share because there’s so much AI video out there.

This isn't to say that the right in the US aren't creating a boogeyman when they talk about "Antifa" as an organisation, but there *is* a left wing protest tradition that revolves around anti-fascism that has identifiable and ideological roots.

minor bugbear but I'm starting to get annoyed by the "know who was antifa? Winston Churchill (or whoever)" meme.

The opposition to fascism at the street level didn't come from national figures / armed forces. It came from motivated usually left wing groups working with the people who lived there.
