It’s #RememberACharity Week, a time to think about how you’d like to be remembered and to consider leaving a gift to charity in your Will after taking care of loved ones.

Jeremy was a keen cyclist before and illness made cycling a two-wheeled bicycle impossible. Through the Wheels4Me scheme, he was able to explore tricycle options and get back to doing what he loves.

Watch his story below and find out how you can trial a cycle yourself at wheels4me.co.uk

Sadly, only equipment that is specifically designed for Disabled people is VAT exemptable, when purchased by Disabled individuals (or a Disability charity). This excludes bicycles and even many tricycles ☹️.

I used to be the poster-girl for #InclusiveCycling 😅. These days, many more #DisabledCyclists are visible on our streets 🥳👍🏻😀.
@wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk is looking for models happy to help widen representation of #Cycling by #Disabled people. We only use fully consented pics. Pls get in touch 👇👇👇👇

Photos like these are really important for helping to raise awareness of our services and showing funders why we are worth supporting.

Let's make inclusive cycling visible!

"The current regulations are nearly 40 years old and do not account for the devices people need to use".

Find out why we’re so excited that the Government has announced it's planning to review mobility aid law to make it fit for purpose.

Drawing of a wheelchair user, using a power add-on with a manual wheelchair. She is drawn with light brown skin and long brown hair in a ponytail and wearing a dark blue dress that comes close to her knees. She is wearing sunglasses and reaching forward, holding onto the handlebar of the power add-on. The front casters of her orange-coloured wheelchair are lifted slightly by the light blue power add-on. Behind the lightweight wheelchair, a quite large bag is visible hanging down behind the back of the wheelchair. Screenshot of a tweet from Simon Lightwood MP. Jul 21.

"Everyone deserves safe, accessible transport.

That’s why we’re extending e-scooter trials to 2028 and expanding them to new towns to learn how best to regulate them.

We’re also looking at our mobility aid laws so disabled people can use the devices they need for independence." Accompanied with a photo, the alt text for which was "Hire escooters parked in a line in a designated parking area", image attribution Department for Transport.
