The real tea is that there is nothing stopping Brandon Johnson from implementing #PlowTheSidewalks other than himself.

We did not need to pass an ordinance today for the city to be allowed to do it. We just needed to pass one for him to agree to do it.

We are not talking individual behavior.

They have set up literal physical infrastructure to protect the ICE facility in order to facilitate their ingress and egress.

All while brutalizing protestors.

That’s policy, not individual defectors.

No matter how many hit clips you see from @govpritzker.illinois.gov, the fact remains that the Illinois State Police are actively protecting and aiding ICE in their terrorizing of our communities.

CHICAGO (WGN) - A WGN creative services department employee was detained by two
Border Patrol officers and later released after federal agents swarmed a busy intersection on Chicago's North Side Friday morning, at the height of rush hour.
WGN is not naming the employee, as station policy requires blurring faces and not identifying those who have not been charged with a crime.
Witnesses on site who captured the incident on video spoke to WGN about the moments leading up to the staffer's detainment.

Thomas added that when he made his way down to the scene, around 8:30 Friday morning, he realized there was another person already detained inside the minivan being used by United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
"I didn't get his name, although I asked for his name," Thomas said. "He didn't speak very good English. They claimed that the WGN employee was obstructing justice, even though she was, like all of us, just standing there, taking video.'
"

I'm really glad more people are realizing how brutal ICE has been in Chicago but it's really weird to see people talking about Rev Black getting attacked like it happened yesterday and not 3 weeks ago. Like, I'm glad people are catching up! But it's very weird.

Reminder that we still don’t know what happened to the 1,000 immigrants who went missing from Alligator Alcatraz.

Their families and attorneys can’t locate them.

They’ve been disappeared.

People are still being sent to that horrible place without any due process.

Well, yeah, we're suing ICE.

This wasn't really a hard decision. As little faith as we have in institutions, we recognize the value of drawing visible lines in the sand. We drew ours personally a while ago, but better late than never.

May every protester be freed and may this occupation end.

FINALLY signed my 75-year-old uncle up for @thetriibe.com. He got a welcome email and cussed me out because

This is how you lose a democratic republic, you fold to untruths that the dictator wants to be true to take away your rights and government
