Here's a detailed new interview ahead of THE SIGNAL-MAN with THE TRIAL FOR MURDER, which opens next week. Only a few tickets remain for York (the 21st October show) but there's decent availability for London... for now anyway...

I prefer to call it CARRY ON DRACULA.

True to last year, we're creeping towards a sell-out in York. Better availability in London, but for how long? Get booking!

Live at the premiere of Hammer’s glorious restoration of The Curse of Frankenstein in Leicester Square! @jamescswanton.bsky.social was superb as the creature haunting the foyer, and 90 year old actor Melvyn Hayes (who portrayed young Frankenstein) stole the show with his humour and wit! 🖤

A very great pleasure, Sam! I was so sorry we couldn't speak, but our longstanding online friendship meant I felt at liberty to throttle you. Isn't Melvyn a wonder?

I don't have a list, I'm afraid. But I think it's safe to say he'll be on the accompanying UK documentaries for all the Hammer Mummy films.

A reminder that tickets are now available for all my Halloween and Christmas shows at London's Dickens Museum! Choose from THE SIGNAL-MAN & THE TRIAL FOR MURDER, THE HAUNTED MAN and the immortal CHRISTMAS CAROL before they sell out: dickensmuseum.com/blogs/all-ev...
Graphic for THE SIGNAL-MAN & THE TRIAL FOR MURDER: a man in undertaker's weeds disappearing into a black void. Graphic for THE HAUNTED MAN: a semi-transparent man in Victorian dress against a starry sky. Graphic for A CHRISTMAS CAROL: a leonine door knocker on a maroon background.

💀⚡ A Monster Reborn ⚡💀

For Hammer Films’ brand-new release of The Curse of Frankenstein, I had the honour — through Igor Studios, the special makeup FX branch of House of Igor — of recreating Phil Leakey’s original Frankenstein monster makeup. Hammer Films have just released the first images

Like many, @househammerpod.bsky.social were saddened by the untimely passing of John J. Johnston. We always hoped he'd be back on the pod one day. As a small tribute, here's a special Hammer Bites episode, where John and @cevni.bsky.social talk all things Mummy.

RIP John.

I'm shocked and deeply saddened at the sudden loss of @johnjjohnston.bsky.social. He was a gentleman and a scholar, and wildly flamboyant in both guises; infectiously enthusiastic and unfailingly supportive; warm, kind and an awful lot of fun. Raise a glass (or bottle) of rosé to his memory. VALE!
John J. Johnston as he appeared in the BBC documentary TUTANKHAMUN IN COLOUR.

With thundering inevitability, I'm covering FRANKENSTEIN (1931) and BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935) on The Evolution of Horror. There was so much to be said about these, the most classic of all classic horror films, that @mikemuncer.bsky.social had to split the episode into two! Here's part one...

I had the joy of experiencing this last year, definitely give it a go if you're in London on Halloween weekend!

Following last year's sell-out run, I'm reviving my Halloween double bill of THE SIGNAL-MAN and THE TRIAL FOR MURDER. There'll be six showings at Charles Dickens's only surviving London home, from 31st October to 2nd November. And tickets are now on sale: dickensmuseum.com/blogs/all-ev...
