I'll say this for V/H/S/ HALLOWEEN now my mood has improved a bit: the section with the video store might be one of the best in the franchise (and certainly the bleakest). The rest of it is meh at best though.

The no rap version is on Spotify, meaning I can replace it in my Pop-o-matic playlist, so thanks for alerting me to its existence!

One of the biggest foxes I remember seeing too. Absolute vulpine unit 🦊

Scrappy. Godzooky had the hilarious and jarring "And God-zoooooooky" bit in the theme song to redeem him slightly.

Never forget Scrappy Doo worked directly with Reagan to distribute crack cocaine into the inner cities of America.

There was a fox in my garden! It'd caught a squirrel
A fox sat on the fence of my garden, trees behind it. It has a luckless grey squirrel in it's mouth.

Wonder if the thinking was "Kanye is problematic so we'll play the version without him on it" or "our listeners find that new-fangled rap singing scary so we'll play the version without any of that nonsense".

(I don't listen to Radio 2 so for all I know they're banging out Chief Keef all day)

I don't understand how that live task on this week's @taskmaster.tv was so gripping 🦆

I appear to be in a very bad mood today. Apologies, it's been a hard couple of weeks.

If there was still a taboo about the gory, violent deaths of children being shown on screen then I guess it's over now. The child mortality rate in VHS HALLOWEEN is quite something.

The dream would be for it to be a legal requirement for AI slop to be declared at the point of purchase, like trigger warnings. I mean, if it's so amazing and the future etc then surely tech bros and the government can't have a problem with that?

I know it will never happen.

Same goes for music, games, TV programmes, books etc I guess.

Is there a website or something which tells you which films have used AI? Would be nice to be able to check before viewing, especially if I'm going to spend money on it.

Fine. See you at the pictures.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

Nowhere near finished watching yet, but it's an instant half star on Letterboxd. Respect your fellow artists or fuck off out of filmmaking for life you soulless pricks.
