Hadn’t thought about this but yeah, if he’d been a jinx he’s getting grilled at Pike Place on Saturday

Whoever made the call was putting all the cards on the table. Just an unparalleled call. That could have gone SOUTH. If that had gone the other way, it would have been the end of Humpy.

Some Mariners lore: As a third grader in 1995, I got to see them win another ALDS, also in Game 5, also on an extra innings walk-off. It’s the most famous moment in franchise history, and they haven’t exactly done much since. Getting to be at the same game 30 years later was [getting emotional]

I am DYING to know how long the Mariners stadium gameday operations people have had “do a salmon race but this time humpy wins” up their sleeve as a break glass in case of emergency fire-up-the-crowd play

This might sound silly but vouch it is 100 percent correct. Crowd had been nuts all night but also was just aching for something to cheer for. When Humpy won, they set off the bangs and everything like someone had hit a walk-off homer and it jolted the whole place. Sports are weird and great!

Man. Humpy really did that shit.

Real talk. Here is what set a series of events into motion that led to the #mariners ALDS victory. 🤣🔱

Classic Drake fans, never reading to the end of the post
A spokesperson for Drake has announced that he plans to appeal, which is both his right, and also an invitation to the Second Circuit to take
judicial notice of the fact that Take Care was good, Nothing Was the Same was fine, and he hasn't put out a decent album since.

For years I had wondered how Jay-Z got that picture in the proto-internet era and the answer is INCREDIBLE

Took a break from the Supreme Court's ongoing horrorshow to focus on what really matters: how funny it is for a federal judge to decide, as a matter of law, that Drake lost the Kendrick Lamar beef
Federal Judge Declares Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” Too Awesome to Be Defamatory
Apparently, Drake decided that losing in the court of public opinion was not humiliating enough.

He had 2 carries for minus-3 yards on a team that didn’t score a touchdown, and also I’m an idiot

I also drafted Croskey-Merritt for $1 and getting Skattebo wrong feels 10 times as bad as getting JCM right. I don’t really have an explanation for this.

It’s me, the guy who drafted Cam Skattebo for $5 in our keeper league and dropped him after he had negative rushing yards in week 1 for a terrible Giants team and I concluded he wouldn’t do shit

An actual hot take: Too many authors are afraid of editors watering down their voice or whatever and not afraid enough of editors letting you put any old slop on the page.

'There, There' was great, but his follow-up, 'Wandering Stars', was event better—beautiful and gutting and took my breath away more than once. If you missed it, I strongly recommend reading. Really excited to see what he does next.
