Uh oh… you’ll just be seeing ceramics and printmaking on my profile.

Can’t take credit for this. But Jessica was in Stockton this year for Winter StocktonCon. Amazing art covers as I learn more about her work. 😊

Part 4

Large work with armature

The biggest challenge was hollowing it out. I had to take a break to address details later now that I have it slow drying.

Part 3

This one was whimsical and more in my comfort zone with building with coils. Minimum expectation was for 20” tall.

Part 2

Portraits and subsequently made it into a press mold.

Stepped out of my comfort zone and took a figurative class with Center for Figurative Ceramics

My students told me in class today that Turning Point USA was holding an event on campus. Please read. This hate speech continues to run rampant across our communities and must stop.

The greatest business battle EVER to be fought will come when President Elon starts trying to implement AI for federal processes.

The battle will be fought over which company’s AI will be used by the feds.

This is a zero sum battle that will create more chaos than this country has ever seen

So shiny! I’ve never used a new kiln before. I glows and mildly distracting.

These new ones with the 3” brick hold the heat well.

The other electric kilns need some refreshing. Maybe they’ll get a new thermocouple this semester.

Deborah Rutter was fired this week after a decade as president of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

She says the center worked hard to expand its audience by broadening the programming, inviting "all manner of arts and artists to our stages. ... I pray that that can be sustained."

Thanks to Izzy and Lee from ClayPeople for the premium door-to-door delivery and assembly. The cart was worth every penny for the upgrade. I think every electric kiln we have should also have a cart.

An exciting week at University of the Pacific

We just added a new kiln to help with the firing overflow with the second section of intro classes.

A big Thanks to ClayPeople and @skuttkilns.bsky.social

The intro ceramics classes finished their first pieces. It’s amazing to see what they make when they aren’t burdened by limitations. Only rules: must be hollow and must exceed 8”.
