I think Farkas has matured, but I don't believe adults can really change all that much.

More likely he knows what he should say to be electable and is smartly sticking to the script. After all, his every action for the past few years has been to position himself to run again.

One of the best things I ever did... My college roommate put up a soulful pic of Paul McCartney from the White Album. As a prank I cut out the eyes & taped them back in upside down. It hilariously changed the vibe of the photo and gave me joy every time I entered the room. Took him MONTHS to notice.

I feel like this interpretation is too traditional-dictator.

Trump is primarily a narcissist and sadist... I think he WANTS the protests and wants the violence and wants to watch the military murder civilians on his orders and wants to force the whole world to be shocked by the spectacle.
