From our experience, fans of #UniversesBeyond are fans of the individual IPs, not fans of #Magic (with the notable exception of Final Fantasy).

People buying Spider-Man packs right now aren't regular players. They're mostly Marvel fans. We don't see them participating later with the #mtg community.

#Pokemon players are generally happier too. Sure, there's problems with the game, but they seldom express complaints in the store to us.

#Magic players come to our #LGS to vent frustrations over the game. We're their goddamn therapists helping them cope through being fans of the game.

This is coming up again in recent online discourse so, as someone who works at an #LGS, I'd like to clear up any misconceptions about #mtg.

The margins on #Magic for stores is laughably small. The people making money on MtG are #WotC, not the stores.

#Pokemon pays the rent and keeps the lights on.

My favourite part of #mtg #UniversesBeyond is just how divisive it is.

You can really see how it drives the #Magic community apart, especially when #WotC bootlickers go after pro players for voicing their dissatisfaction.

WotC should feel proud of themselves for fostering this toxic environment.
