One of my goals this year was to break even (as the first of my books to do that) and earn out Dirt You Shall Become, but with just 2.5 months left of 2025 (omg what?!), $40 to go, and unable to bring any sales in even with reduced price during spooky month I'm 🥲

“Move to the countryside,” they said. “It’ll be peaceful. It’ll reduce your stress.”
The loaded rifle rests over my knees as I glare around the setting dusk. Barbed wire encloses my yard. It forms a tight mesh that only lets through the nighttime shadows. Mika growls and I place a calming hand between her ears.
The shadows shift.
I raise the rifle, taking aim. “Go to hell, motherfucker!”
