If you want top musicians, you have to have students taking music degrees.

That includes the ones who didn't go to university, but took guitar lessons or were inspired by a school music teacher, rely on top producers or session musicians who acquired their skills on a music degree, etc etc etc.

Gap used to be my go-to, until I bought three consecutive pairs of ostensibly identical jeans - same size, style, and colour - and one pair was too big, one too small. Their quality checks leave something to be desired.

Levis, always. I go for 512s, straight leg rather than skinny. But it’s SO dependent on your shape. I’m an hourglass if that’s helpful.

As someone who was recently prevented from boarding a flight from Chicago to the UK - a situation that took 3.5 weeks to sort, during which I nearly ran out of vital cancer medication - this frightens me. I have family in the US, but I'm increasingly hesitant to return...

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

Absolutely. Smartphones and internet video have absolutely transformed long-distance relationships. I can see and talk to my elderly parents in Australia for as long as I like whenever I like (time difference permitting 😁).

They enhance as much as they detract.

It's no good saying "pull your socks up and go back to work" when it is a person's workplace that has made them sick.

Workplaces that treat workers fairly, with dignity, and with sufficient time off — including the right to switch off — have far less sick leave and far better productivity rates.

Mental ill health is frequently caused or exacerbated by entrenched workplace cultures of overwork and bullying.

Until all UK workplaces are forced to take their statutory workplace mental health & safety duties seriously, people with mental ill health will be unable to return to or remain in work.
