Seen some folks asking about lawyers who help federal employees so:

1. obviously, you can call us. we'll try to fit you in considering ~everything~

2. go to MWELA.org. that's the plaintiff's employment bar association in the DMV. go to NELA.org nationally. search for lawyers who do federal work.

The cop took offense to the man not handling his copy of the ticket like it was going in a scrapbook someday. That's the difference between a stop and an arrest.

(He hadn't signed somehing cute or offensive, just his name. First initial and a squiggle, Last initial and a squiggle. Cleaner than my X on most legal filings.)

Yep. Can verify.

Cop had already separated the carbon copies of ticket (for expired inspection) and handed client his copy.

Client stuffed ticket into his visor, and cop took issue.

Kept yelling at him to sign the ticket again using his "real signature" then arrested him.

i had a client once who was arrested because the cop insisted his signature was a fake signature. he watched the guy sign the summons and insisted he was ... faking a signature?

we lost

This is yet another reminder that the "you can just walk around with your papers and be fine!" is a lie: the cops routinely claim whatever documentation you provide is invalid

It's racism all the way down

I worked at Home Depot for years as a kid and still wouldn't try to DIY these repairs.

Our cat once managed to get trapped between a wall and our (then) walking washer-dryer combo. I moved that shit like a mama bear. My back has never been the same.

I hear this 100%. This year has been particularly tough.

Young mothers, teachers, and lawyers make up the vast majority (if not the entirety) of folks in the intensive outpatient program I'm in.

This is due in part, I think, to an appreciation of the impact of now on the future.

I see you all and you are not alone.

"30-year-old conservative lawyer and activist who is Trump’s nominee to lead the Office of Special Counsel, which deals with federal employee whistleblower complaints and discrimination" cancelled his colleague's hotel room so she would be forced to stay with him.
www.politico.com/news/2025/10...
In late July, Paul Ingrassia, the White House liaison for the Department of Homeland Security, arrived at a Ritz-Carlton in Orlando with a lower-ranking female colleague and others from their department. When the group reached the front desk, the woman learned she didn’t have a hotel room.

Ingrassia then informed her that she would be staying with him, according to five administration officials familiar with the episode. Eventually the woman discovered that Ingrassia had arranged ahead of time to have her hotel room canceled so she would have to stay with him, three of those officials said.

I spent more than a decade at The Post. It was good to me and I was proud to work there. I’ve largely refrained from being critical since I left. But this framing of the special counsel probe is embarrassing and flatly wrong. Stunning, but not. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

Not like, a serious encounter. Just something fun and flirty.

Unclear whether that means that: (1) I'm lucky to have a chance; or (2) I don't stand a chance, and beginning to think it was an uncool thing to say.
