Seen some folks asking about lawyers who help federal employees so:

1. obviously, you can call us. we'll try to fit you in considering ~everything~

2. go to MWELA.org. that's the plaintiff's employment bar association in the DMV. go to NELA.org nationally. search for lawyers who do federal work.

I’m mindful today of those for whom this is their first Thanksgiving without a loved one. I’m praying for a measure of peace and the comfort of beautiful memories.

@joshuaerlich.bsky.social ordered a cat litter box robot and it came today.

It is the size of a washing machine.

He had no idea.

He brought it up to our apartment in a large canvas drawstring bag, slung over his shoulder like Santa Claus.

I can't stop laughing.

The first & last time my mom (who does not eat turkey or ham) hosted a holiday:

She made the classic mistake of not knowing a turkey took time to cook. Panicked, arranged slices of thinly-sliced deli ham (thinking "ham is ham") on a platter w/ baby carrots (for color), and served it as the entree.
yes, hello, I would like to place an order for everyone’s funniest stories of holiday food-related family grudges / drama / chaotic incidents / lore

I feel like we need this

I startled a woman waiting directly outside the elevator doors today.

She gasped and yelled "TALL!" at me (I had about a foot on her).

We had a good laugh.

Here's the law, if anyone wants to read it. It's pretty short, and provides a list of what has to be released and when (heads up that agencies routinely blow past statutory deadlines), lists exceptions (e.g., no publishing of CSAM) and requires reporting to Congress. www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

To non-lawyers: this level of incompetence is BREATHTAKING. It is absolutely incomprehensible. This is a "mistake" that will be taught in criminal procedure classes for GENERATIONS.
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Do you know what a 15 year-old isn't? A fucking adult.

Megyn Kelly, you're an attorney who is well aware of what "age of consent" means and the fact that non-consensual sex is rape.

This doesn't meet your def of a child rapist?

Fine. You don't meet my def of a human. What the fuck are you.

Ignoring the news to avoid the very real and visceral anger it evokes.

I think/hope things are finally happening, but I don't have the bandwith atm.
I don't often talk about having been a victim of sexual assault in my childhood and adolescence, but I will say now that everything I've been through in trying to rebuild my sense of self and become a functioning adult is burning in my chest with raw fury at seeing the stupid cruelty of these people
