Had to unpin my intro due to a stalker weeks ago but here's my introduction for new followers:
Hi I'm Kay.
Just an everyday lady trying to do the right thing. Dealing with health bs currently that has me use mobility aids every once in a while. Hopefully will get answers soon. Signed up on a whim 🧵

When things get overwhelming, disconnect to reconnect: directly connect with people irl or 1 on 1( chat, text, etc especially for my disabled/ chronically ill folks). Honestly it puts a lot in perspective and gets you in touch with humanity. Highly recommend.

They don't like that we can clock bs and need a scape goat to their horribleness or internal stuff that isn't our problem. It's quite frankly lazy. Humans deserve to exist period.

Neurodiversity means that some of us can clock bullshit and call it out. Some people don't like it and throw a fit preaching a "cure".

Tough shit. We're here.

Every time someone talks about “curing” autism, what they’re really saying is:

That autism is a disease
That we are broken
That we shouldn’t exist

It’s not just wrong - it’s dehumanising

We’re not a problem to be solved.
We’re real, valid humans

Why is that so hard to see?

2/ and for those who showed up way back then and now, especially the quiet ones: thank you. I see you. It's hard. But know I'm filled with gratitude for big and small gestures to make this world less shitty.

Trend I'm seeing resurfacing: doom sayers/ those with lack of hope or even some sort of way to contribute to positive change ( or really unwillingness to) are almost all privileged.
Some y'all have never actually read history & it shows. Self reflect but don't drag us down like you always do.

A Black child’s meltdown is seen as aggression 😕
A white child’s meltdown is seen as a cry for help 🙂‍↔️
This double standard costs lives, opportunities, and dignity.
Listen to Black autistic voices.
Believe our experiences ♾️

Oh he's mad mad lol yikes

You're in your 50s and gross. Ew. But sure "Chicks" are the problem.

Also.. you look like a walking Toontown villain or a person who failed a Village People audition.

Please stop.

Kid Rock: Do you know what is stupid… these chicks running around on campuses with blue hair, five nose rings.

Ugh I'm so sorry! I'm thinking of my own experiences and what this would do to me. Sending my support to you all. You deserve better.

I hear of different countries with their stories. Omg this is insane. My body could not wait that long. But if we don't fight here across the pond, our conditions will go from bad to worse.
Sending support to my peers across the way. You deserve better.

My mobility issues are a great example of NHS gateways and how they leave us waiting and waiting, always worsening…

1. GP appointment - 1 month
2. Referred to physio - 3 months
3. Two physio appts - 4 months
4. Referred to MSK - 9 months
5. Referred for tests - 6 months

I'd like to spare a moment for World Mental Health Day:

Take the time to reflect on how you feel and how you'd like to feel. Prioritize yourself, your "peace", but also be mindful of how you project it on others.

Seeking help is NOT in any way a weakness. It's brave. You've got this. 💜

Many things are being destroyed & the news of it is a psychological & political onslaught.

So it’s important that you create things.

It can be art, cookies, a community pantry, a garden, a mask bloc. It can be beautiful, practical, silly. Just create & share.

It’ll do your brain & the world good.

4/ Also as I should definitely mention:I'm very sorry to my followers. I will do better. I refuse to support harm. I took a brief look rn & she's very concerning.I will need to make a longer thoughtful thread about Venezuelan politics as it has personally affected my loved ones.Context is important.

3/ I encourage everyone to pause and/ or to own it when they make mistakes as we all will, myself included. I will do better.
Be safe and well.

2/ Venezuela is a topic that hits home as I have some family there as well as globally. The global climate rips through me as I see the decades of generations surviving things like that only to relive it again. It hurts. But we must be aware how our own stuff influences perspectives.
kaystateswitch78.bsky.social
As always I will own up when I am inaccurate or something is off. And since I can't delete a repost, I will hold off any repost or post on Maria Corina Machado until I take time looking into her closely. It's very important, now more than ever, to be mindful with posting and to own up to change 🧵

And perhaps the parents maybe should have swallowed them 😬
thisone0verhere.bsky.social
This year has felt like 9 months of babysitting somebody else’s kid and they’re making you play a boardgame you don’t wanna play and making up the rules so only they can win and also they’re screaming the whole time and their parents aren’t coming home anytime soon and you’re paying them $150 a day

She faces threats, intimidation, and relentless attacks—but has never given up. Fearless in the face of tyranny, María Corina Machado wins the Nobel Peace Prize for her courage and fight for democracy in Venezuela. What an inspiration!
