Every photo of this man projects “mean dumb asshole” which is exactly what you’re looking for in a Librarian of Congress
Lunchtime reading: THE HEARING TRUMPET by Leonora Carrington. Delightfully bizarre.

♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
It was so wonderful to meet up with @kendrabean.bsky.social while she's in Georgia for a Vivien Leigh event! We hadn't seen each other since 2015!

My 6-yo grandniece always asks me if whoever I am showing her a video of has died. When I showed her Gene Kelly doing the barn dance routine from SUMMER STOCK ‘50, she asked me if he died. I said, yes, and she replied “he probably danced too hard”
Finished this little gothic gem this evening. I need more Caroline Blackwood books in my life. Thank you to @nyrb-imprints.bsky.social for the copy

Don’t threaten me with a good time! I loved VICTORIAN PSYCHO by Virginia Feito 🔪

I love this for you, my friend! ♥️📚
Went to the Rizzoli bookstore in Manhattan today with @812filmreviews.bsky.social to see my book! I signed a few copies. It was surreal.
Loved Master and Margarita!
Just finishing up BASTARD OUT OF CAROLINA by Dorothy Allison. Heartbreaking but full of fighting spirit. Bone is such a great character.

The look on Zelenskyy’s face when Trump says “they respect me” is *chef’s kiss*🤌

While watching that horrifying, globe-shifting exchange with Zelenkskyy, I couldn't help but think about what a deliberately staged reality-TV moment it was, with two people ganging up on one and screaming a classic, totally petulant reality-TV accusation: They hadn't been thanked enough.

Wow - we got access to rare earth minerals and all we had to give up was our global reputation
I think the author is British but just lives in Spain 🤔
Don’t threaten me with a good time! I expected VICTORIAN PSYCHO by Virginia Feito to be dark and bloody but I did not expect it to be funny as well. A razor sharp (pun intended) gothic satire of classism and the country estate in Victorian England. A+. No notes. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can’t forget BEAUTYLAND by Marie-Helene Burtino. Don’t sleep on this one, guys, it’s so good!

Some books I have read and enjoyed recently:

LETTERS TO THE PURPLE SATIN KILLER by Joshua Chaplinsky

MARGO’S GOT MONEH TROUBLES by Rufi Thorpe

RAZORBLADE TEARS by @blacktopkid.bsky.social

FINDING ME by Viola Davis

#booksky 📚💙
I’ve got that one on my shelf!
What a great book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Felix Gonzalez-Torres ‘Portrait of Ross in LA’ represents his lover’s weight (in sweets) before AIDS took its toll.
Each day, as visitors help themselves to sweets, the weight drops, only to be replaced by the museum, granting a longevity denied to Ross.
Heartbreaking.

The Smithsonian's queer erasure of an AIDS artwork should alarm us all
By omitting the tragic story behind Felix González-Torres "Untitled" (Portrait of Ross in L.A.), the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery is setting a perilous precedent, warns art scholar Ignacio Da...
