I went to a rally once and it didn't fix everything, therefore rallies are a neolib plot. Or something.

This is what they've done.

WATCH: ProPublica obtained records from the Department of Agriculture that detail the 94 million pounds of food, down to the number of eggs, that never reached food banks because of the Trump administration’s cuts to The Emergency Food Assistance Program.

I also remember the sensationalist head6the Examiner had when the weapons were discovered: YOSEMITE DEATH KNIVES

They don't realize REVOLUTION also means Project 2025. Of course GOPers aren't dumb enough to think they get their revolution without voting to control the levers.

People who lose their shpadoinkles if their wifi goes down for a few hours REALLY aren't ready for what long-term general strikes and revolution will mean.

It's such an unbelievable and chilling and tragic confluence of events.

Yeah, I was living in SF when this happened. Really awful.

They act like voting is SO HARD when it's literally the least they can do and then think EVERYONE else should do the heavy lifting when shit goes sideways because they're SPECIAL DAMMIT!

"You know, I look back, and I've known such love." I rewatched "Marvin's Room" recently and Diane Keaton's Bessie is a marvel. RIP.

Their version of trickle-down economics (and civil rights).

I hope his reaction is to set himself on fire.

Turns out that maybe voting harder wasn't a bad idea.

The usual joke for International Stage Management Day:
"How many stage managers does it take to..."
"Done!"

Anyway, thank you Portland and thank you Chicago for the creative and brave ways you are meeting this moment and giving us hope.

Occupy started when white college-educated people started losing their jobs, homes, 401ks, etc. When economic injustice largely impacted Black women, it wasn't worth getting publicly fussed about to them. But somebody fucks with THEIR bag, and it's "we're all in this together!"

For that matter, if they know ANYONE who has had a major longterm health crisis like cancer, a brain tumor, etc. -- they should be VERY DAMN GLAD that lifetime caps were removed by the ACA. It doesn't take long to hit that million-dollar mark and then you're fucked for the rest of your life.

And nobody, including President Obama, ever said "Well, we're done with healthcare reform now." But gee, turns out deliberately helping things get WORSE by staying home at elections makes them worse, not better. Whodathunk it?
kerryreid.bsky.social
I don't expect people who were able to stay on their parents' plans until 26 because of that "shit sandwich" to fully understand that. But I do expect them to do a modicum of research to understand what a VAST improvement the ACA was over the status quo.

And if the white man happens to be a forced birther like Heath Mello, that's not a dealbreaker as long as they endorsed BERNIE! But you know, if a Dem doesn't get foursqure behind M4All, they're corporatist demons.

Particularly in health care, since I was dealing with individual policies for a portion of that time and know how white-knuckle it could be around rescission.
