People with chronic pain eventually develop a 'game face' that basically I think of as Resting Pain Face. It's stoic and tends to smooth out pain responses. I bet this would be a FANTASTIC way to gaslight CRPS and FM patients.

I listened a couple times in the 80s. the degree of misogyny was so telling.

Does he know how Trumpy it sounds to say "no one is more supportive of [this thing I made more difficult] than me"?

Most people aren’t asking you mask at all times.

They ask that you mask in essential places: public transit, hospitals, doctors’ offices, pharmacies etc.

Places high risk people can’t avoid.

But if you hate wearing masks? Then advocate for indoor air quality: ventilation, filtration, etc.
jamellebouie.net
yeah, i think a commitment to public health obligates you to get vaccinated and, when you are sick, do what you can to avoid spreading that to other people. the demand that one mask at all times in public spaces is, i think, unreasonable.

Curious what you mean by a need to be radically reimagined? I would love to hear more about that if you ever find the time to write about it.

Having read both, Moby Dick fits the same amount of slog into more words, which is a double edged sword. To me, MD was more meaningful and worth reading, but that isn't necessarily saying much, and that's a LOT of pages for that much slog.

I went through an Irving phase almost by accident. there's a line from Hotel New Hampshire I still think about.

Here’s a bookshop dot org link so you don’t have to buy it from Amazon. My purchase supported my neighborhood indie bookshop.

Here's a free book with plenty of examples, and an explanation of the theory behind it. Srdja Popovic was instrumental in Otpor!, the Serbian revolutionary group, and has since formed CANVAS, a group that trains revolutionaries all around the world.

that's what I was thinking too - I am almost completely ignoring the even smaller study I found with n=18!! I am curious, though, about the sdifferent systems affected

I did not do well on a vegetarian diet myself. After I'd gone back to meat someone suggested that maybe it was an issue of trace elements I hadn't been getting the vegetarian way....🤷‍♀️

I wish I was one of those who can do well as a vegetarian, but not everyone is.

I actually like it, but it would have been better if it had called back to the actual zoot era instead of the wannabe pimples that tried to bite that style.

agreed! plus I think it distorts the proportions of his body. Someone on a leaner build might look better with that kind of headdress, but in his case it just manages to diminish his natural glory.

I *love* everything above the logo on the photo, and as my eye kept traveling further down, my spirits kept sinking....

i thought so! but don't they usually look better fitted?

it's almost like the little hip wings are arguing with the big headdress.

did you see the bit where he claimed she called him to say she accepted in his honor because it should have gone to him, and then he imagined he didn't say she was right? clearly demented.
