“That is such bullshit”

@mizzwelch.bsky.social isn’t having it when @corybooker.com tries to blame Democratic failures to stand up to Trump (including his own vote for Kushner’s dad) on a “circular firing squad”

Republicans: Shooting Christian pastors is OK, Due process is overrated, & bombing Venezuelan boats is good!

Young Republicans: We love H*tler, we should gas everyone who doesn't support us

Democrats: No Kings, No H*tler

Uh... so he's openly trying to rig a foreign election for a friend of his and a friend of his top donor—Musk—by saying that Argentinians will only get $20 billion dollars in American aid if they vote for Milei?

So this money Trump is stealing from US taxpayers is not to help Argentina, but his pal?

To no one's surprise, the controversy surrounding Lexipol doesn't stop there. The company has long been scrutinized for creating policies designed to let violent cops off the hook.

This 2020 feature by @msjpauly.bsky.social unpacks its sordid history:
Meet the company that writes the policies that protect cops
Lexipol says its policies keep police departments out of trouble. Critics say they let violent cops off the hook.

A new California law will effectively ban officers from questioning the families of people killed by police before alerting them to the news of their loved one's death.

This practice was popularized by Lexipol, the nation’s largest developer of law enforcement policy manuals. 🧵
California cops can no longer conceal police killings while interrogating loved ones for dirt
A Reveal investigation helped spark a crackdown on a disturbing, widespread practice.

When Israeli forces besieged Kamal Adwan Hospital last December, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya refused to abandon the babies in ICU.

He said, "We have babies & newborns that are in the ICU...we cannot leave the hospital because there is no other hospital that is providing services..."

The idea that current "trumpism" is straying from its roots is itself a delusion. This is what it always was. This is just what happens when it becomes policy.

In twelve days, New Yorkers will begin to cast their ballots and face a stark choice.

A choice between democracy and oligarchy. Between a city you can afford or more of the same. Between the hope of a brighter future or a broken past.

We will choose the future.

Elections aren’t every 4 years or every 2 years, they’re every year. In California we have a special election for prop 50 and it’s a YES. If Texas can gerrymander then we should be able to. I know my comments will be filled with bots, but I won’t be intimidated. Our democracy is vanishing❤️

Wild how the so-called "America First" president found money for a $20 billion bailout to Argentina…

But somehow we can't afford to help Americans keep their healthcare.

California voters, are you paying attention?

North Carolina Republicans are redrawing the map to hand Trump another seat. They’re bragging about locking down Congress for him.

Even as Missourians regain our rights in the courts, Republicans are trying to trick us into giving them up.

We will always stand up for all Missourians rights, whether it's helping pass Amendment 3 last year, fighting Republicans in Jefferson City to protect it, or opposing Amendment 3 next year.
