This my Senator, Jeff Merkley, battling hard for our democracy. Thank you.
My friend @merkley.senate.gov is holding the Senate floor all night to sound the alarm on Trump’s lawless regime.

Proud to stand with him in this fight and in the U.S. Senate. There can be no business as usual.
This is really what it comes down to.

I'm holding the Senate floor to say HELL NO to Trump destroying our We the People government.

Lindsey Halligan has a broadcast journalism degree from Regis University in Denver. I am confident they covered how "off the record" works.
EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

The good ol’ magical thinking. Keeping the deluded just that. Lest we forget.
Yes, he believes this. His “I settled 8 wars” shows the autocrat’s mindset. Tell a lie, repeat it until it feels true, then demand the world conform to it. In his reality, truth isn’t discovered. It’s declared. Once he says it, it becomes real, and everyone else is expected to obey the fiction.
Trump: "To the best of my knowledge we've never had a president that solved one war."
So it’s business as usual for 47. Put a grifter in the People’s House, expect a grift. SMH.
Donald Trump is not paying for the huge construction projects at the WH out of his pocket like MAGA claims. He started out with that lie, but then admitted more than once, on video, that he’s been shaking down CEOs & rich people who want something from the government. As usual.

HAPPENING NOW:
The New Liberal Action Summit is live.

If you’ve ever said “we need a new playbook,” this is where it’s being written.

Dems, organizers, and next-gen leaders are mapping out how we rebuild trust, expand our reach, and make liberalism win again.

This is the asymmetry in our politics and media. If this was the other way around, Biden had pardoned someone then charged with trying to kill Trump, it would be the biggest story in America and every Republican commentator, congressman, news outlet, would be screaming about it in unison.

America's Sleeping Giant roared when police attacked civil rights marchers.

And after tens of thousands of young Americans were killed in Vietnam.

And when Nixon tried to cover up Watergate.

Today it roars once more — at the tyrant in the Oval Office.
Here are just some of the nearly 500 protestors who showed up to our No Kings event in red, rural Lebanon, OR (population 19,600). It was an exuberant, persistent, celebratory crowd.

Padilla: It’s not just undocumented folks who are being detained and arrested. It’s legal immigrants—even US citizens. We know of at least 170 US citizens who have been caught up in these raids and put in detention centers.

It’s the intended effect of this administration to stoke fear and terror

Our federal tax dollars are being used to fund a network of government social media accounts that pump out disinformation 24/7. Even during a government shutdown. It’s definitely not essential work.

Why would they do this now—when the news that Bessent is giving $40 billion to Argentina to ostensibly help bail out a pal—and DT is sharing details of his opulent ballroom? You can’t help but get the impression they aren’t worried about winning over voters ever again.
