Basically. Any minor thing to make a very normal guy with no obvious or known scandals seem untrustworthy or insensitive or disconnected. The more obviously repulsive shit is Cuomo all but saying “he’s a Muslim which means he supports 9/11” to get literal racist about to vote

Like I understand how awful the person he was liking/reposting is but the response is to ask Gene to cut any ties (even if it’s just being a mutual) and publicly disavow him wherever it makes sense (mainly here and twitter) and let that be the end of it

I’d extend a bit of grace towards Gene given the kind of person he generally seems to be on both sites and say that him disavowing the guy only here is mainly because he’s in dialogue with people here more about this guy but they’re statements he could be asked to make on his Twitter profile proper
