Salvation Army seen feeding ICE today. For anyone who doesn't already know about their bigotry, here is more, No need to give them your money this Christmas, or ever.

It’s dinner time for the police. Appears to be pizza from a Salvation Army van.

Broadview’s “free speech” curfew starts soon, at 6pm.

i actually unironically vibe with it, lol. parts of it almost sound like a Boards of Canada track

(I love this footage, btw. I've always been a bit fascinated with Cascadian volcanoes)

it’s messing with my head the way this video looks so old, but was filmed a mere 10 years before i was born.

that’s not even that far apart. that’s the same number of years between my older sister & me. it’s the difference between 2015 & now.

anyway, cool mountain

Join the U.S. Geological Survey on an afternoon observation flight around Mount St. Helens.

You'll see highlights such as the steaming crater, the August dome, Spirit Lake, "The Steps," and the debris avalanche-buried North Fork Toutle River valley.

Selkies.
In legend, the Selkie women (& presumably Selkie men) would remove their seal skins on the shore, rendering them vulnerable to humans who might steal the skins and stop them returning to the sea. A metaphor for stolen passports, people trafficking, & modern slavery.

I've paid Hans' initial vet costs and ER visits, as well as his medication I had to get. The last remaining bit will help me cover rent/utilities this month since I was out of work for about a week for him, not to mention having a tooth pulled. Again, thank you all.

Day 8 - RipperDoc
I had a bit of a rough day and wasn’t feeling well enough to do anything crazy so I just did a lil meme redraw of the king himself!

I’m not kidding when I say these weird ass costumes and antics are actually an extremely effective tactic from a media standpoint bc when enough people do them, the media can’t fully scrub them out

To whomever made the FallRim Resavr tool & included an XML file that gets saved to your desktop as a Chrome shortcut that's labeled "pom":

if your intent was to create an awkward situation for Skyrim modders when their hot professor helps them fix something on their laptop, know that you succeeded.

Old Gods of Appalachia art for the spooky season
two panels drawn with a black fountain pen with some orange accents. the first one depicts a girl with red braided hair. behind her, there's a forest. in the foreground, there's a dark silhouette of a big stag. the girl says "hail, spirit". in the second panel, the girl and the stag stand face to face, the stag's antlers are amber. he says: hail, witch

he has an incredible way of conjuring vivid imagery in fewer words than most would require

i’ve never read anything in the cyberpunk genre before now, but on screen, aesthetics & atmosphere are so core to its themes. i was curious how that would translate to the written word. def not disappointed.

i have read this book so, so many times and there's always some new-to-me description or turn of phrase that reminds me that, oh yeah, Gibson can fucking *write*.

i’m on my first read through currently & this is the first book i’ve read in some time that’s sucked me in from the first page. “a black expanse where gulls wheeled above drifting shoals of white styrofoam” made me set the book down for a minute so i could fully process the image.
