FR24 has launched their first automated airport livestream. It uses ADS-B data to track aircraft and includes ATC audio. It's pretty slick, with excellent aircraft tracking.

I believe the UPS aircraft, an MD-11, is a Heavy while your Airbus A319 is a Large, so the FAA says 5 mile separation for wake turbulence. I did a more accurate calculation and got 8.8 miles (~1 minute) between the two planes. So I dunno. That's still my best guess, but I'm not a pilot.

I didn't see a TCAS RA (the message from the collision avoidance system). It was 5 miles away and not getting closer so it wasn't really a collision threat. I don't think a pilot would typically see it and maneuver hard to avoid a collision.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was wake turbulence from the UPS MD-11 you'd been pacing pretty much since takeoff. They had the same altitude, and you cross their path at the time you reported. You were ~5 miles behind them which at your speed means you were where they were 37 seconds before.

If you tell me what flight I might be able to visualize it. bsky.app/profile/lemo...

Southwest flight 1496 had to dodge an ATAC Hunter Hawker (fighter jet) a few minutes after taking off from Burbank. The 737 got a TCAS RA and descended rapidly, injuring at least two flight attendants. Because the 737 reacted quickly the two aircraft didn't get closer than 1.5 miles/1000 feet vert.

Paves the way for the Monster Under the Bed Act
RepMTG:

The Sunshine State is getting it RIGHT! 🌞

Florida is shutting down dangerous weather modification and geoengineering schemes because our skies belong to the people, not globalist elites and their experiments.

Now it’s time to do the same nationwide. My Clear Skies Act will END chemical spraying, geoengineering, and weather manipulation across America for good.

No more tampering. No more lies. Just clear, God-given skies! 🇺🇸☀️

after the 10th radioactive shrimp recall in 7 weeks, i decided to do some digging

little did i know it would lead me to an underreported industrial accident that may have released an airborne plume of radioactive debris over swaths of indonesia

FYI I'm deleting the previous post because while the linked article does a pretty good job of laying out some facts, it's written by an ex-Russia Today employee.

GPS data puts him within 40 feet of the fire at the time it started, he called 911 30 seconds after the fire started, while calling 911 he asked ChatGPT if you're at fault if your cigarettes start a fire, and a witness says he lied about where he was when he saw the fire. Seems like probable cause.

It's a pretty big deal that the NYC Bar Association--one of the most prominent and respected bar associations in the country--is accusing the President of ordering the "unlawful summary execution," i.e. murder--of civilians in violation of US and international law. www.nycbar.org/press-releas...

My ability to appreciate a clever, elegant proof far outstripped my ability to create one. It was humbling, and good for me (though difficult at the time) to see other students who were so far beyond my ability that they seemed almost alien.

The latest news from Denmark...

The imaginary Danish drones, very much in keeping with imaginary drones are proving bloody inconvenient to prove.

The question is how many millions of €s will be spaffed before the authorities realise they're imaginary?

When CBP flew MQ-9 Reaper drones over Los Angeles, they turned off ADS-B. bsky.app/profile/lemo...

Hexagons aren't always MQ-9s, but in this case, yes, there are two MQ-9 Reapers over LA today. Just ridiculous.

Local and federal law enforcement, including DHS/CBP, often fly with "transponders off". Actually they've only turned off ADS-B–their transponders are on and in Mode C, which is not visible on most flight trackers but can be seen by ATC. Here's a helicopter with ADS-B off that night.

I did OK as a math major in a school with a very good math department. I got a perfect score on the math GRE and started a Ph.D at University of Chicago, but I saw right away I wasn't cut out for it while I also saw genius colleagues soar. And that's why I switched to AI.
