Proof of life on my electric motorcycle streamlining kit. We just had to rework the wheels which were giving us trouble due to maintenance issues.

This article is 1000% correct. We can’t actually achieve any of these goals without more staff. Friendly reminder that the last time we had this few staff it was 1967. We served 480 claimants per staff then. Now we have to serve 1800 per staff. This is not sustainable or even achievable. Period.
Social Security wants about 15 million fewer visits in its field offices
The new goal to cut the number of field office visits comes as the agency’s frontline locations have lost thousands of employees.

When I talk about crowdsourcing bigotry, this is what I mean. The OU case is an anti-trans campaign, full-stop. Confected outrage generated by a well-funded group of elites (far-right GOP) applying pressure to other elites (university admin).

The reason people don't like conservative students is that whenever they're inconvenienced or annoyed they throw a tantrum and call in national media to terrorize their peers.

This guy is a useless coward.

Bring it up, make them vote it down on record. Fucking hell. If your only option is to be performative then BE. PERFORMATIVE.

Republicans spend decades doing completely performative shit, and it led us here. Fucking do it.

Good piece by @polphilpod.bsky.social at @theunpopulist.net. I think there is something to be said for distinguishing fascism proper from merely illiberal right-populism. And there's no plausible narrow and precise definition of "fascist" that Musk doesn't very obviously meet.
Even by a Strict Definition, Elon Musk Is a Fascist
He is weaponizing Tolkien to promote violence by ‘hard men’ against Asian immigrants

“yeah our network downtime was getting to be a problem until we told the bot it was wearing programmer socks. we’ve got a whole team trying to figure out which fursonas work better for QA”
"we found a Type Of Guy who represents a particularly helpful corner of the latent space" is easily my favorite type of positive LLM posting.
Our Discord support agent was kind of annoying, so I asked it to pretend to be a 58-year old systems administrator from Ohio that wrote on forums a lot.

Turns out -- this makes your support bot extremely competent. The quality of its support responses are now far better.

Yeah the Knights of Labor ethnically cleansed Seattle while the IWW organized Chinese workers, a set of facts that is almost impossible to ignore for a labor historian but Erik Loomis isn't a labor historian he's an anti-anarchist racist

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed
The Knights were anti-chinese pogromists, in contrast to the IWW, which was co-created by anarchists and other socialists, inspired in part by the Haymarket anarchists. If more (racist) workers were interested in the Knights than the anarchists, that's a bad thing.

It's so fucking infuriating to see the effect that AI is having on artists' ability to make a living.

It doesn't have to be this way.
I'm really gutted about this. I spent over ten years building my website, it's what launched my writing career. But between AI hijacking all my traffic, literally, traffic from searches is almost 0 now, and my host raising fees to be hundreds of dollars for the year, I just can't anymore.

one of my hotter takes is that i don’t think RFK, jr. believes in his anti-vax shit in a way that any of us would understand the word “believes”. he understands that flogging it gives him power and notoriety, and that’s all he believes in.
confirmation bias is a hell of a drug, but lizza’s stupid update today characterizes RFK, jr. in exactly the ways i have always suspected him to be, like, with a shocking degree of accuracy
