Any one of these massive AAA videogame companies could file suit against the 6-piece Chicken McNobody ringleaders harassing their employees, and that they don't is a choice. I said before of goobergate that the industry enjoys having a bunch of unpaid Pinkertons around too much to ever give it up.
Two months after firing over Charlie Kirk comments, Ghost of Yotei dev blames harassment campaign, not 'bad joke'

The Star Wars movie ranking is pretty easily Empire, then Hope, then Last Jedi, then Return, then literally any three-star sci-fi movie you could name, then Force Awakens, then the prequels, then Rogue One, then Solo, then getting your eyeballs ripped out by wasps, then Rise of Skywalker.

The difference between anyone who has had a real job and your average "AI writer for the Economist" whose entire life is a net negative on the planet is that many of us realize that the authoritarian structures of your typical job don't actually further the productive goals of the organization.
“Capitalism forces you to wake up at 7am against your body’s natural rhythms” no that’s Taylorism and if you don’t like living in a society that coordinates effort to ensure a better outcome for all then I don’t think you’ll love the alternatives

I mean it's just more and more of the stratification of society and so much of what's "successful" right now is that by catering to the shrinking sliver of the population that seems to have immense amounts of disposable income. Cf big-box-of-plastic tabletop kickstarters.
One thing is that I don't think most people know how completely different the hardcore sim market is from the general games market

Can we at least set a baseline that "yr open mouth ready for my harvest" is not particularly out there or bizarre in terms of bad sexts? It's no "I want to crawl inside your womb but have *you* call *me* 'mommy'".

What you call a "devil's nap" I call evidence that the divine light of getting a little more sleep doesn't arrive on a convenient schedule that fits your little capitalist box

My suspicion also is that while Lizza doesn't *know* what stories Nuzzi killed on behalf of RFK Jr, but he certainly wants us to *think* that he knows so we buy subscriptions to his newsletter

something i'll note is that if nuzzi ran catch-and-kill ops for rfk jr and lizza knew this prior to him being appointed as HHS, and instead of telling anyone, he decided to save it for his substack long after rfk jr had made communicable disease into federal policy, that's completely fucked

It is also worth remembering that while Lizza frames it as "reluctantly outing information that must now be public record" what he is really doing is "exposing the sexual history of a woman he used to date who is also 18 years his junior".

I'm going to be real with you Lizza is kinda sauceless for putting the 'felching' bit above the break to suggest that the stuff in the paywalled section of his article is even more salacious when it really isn't

Happy to announce that we've now collected enough data on the social dynamics and behaviors of 38-year-olds – Bluesky will now be shutting down shortly. Thank you for your participation in our study.

Someone with more time, energy, and spite than me needs to go scouring through the past remarks of any dem who starts making overtures towards MTG to see if they joined in on the Mamdani antisemitism smears

Trump is just a very suggestible old man, the same thing happened with Lula a month ago.

Like, I can't emphasize enough how embarrassing it is to go into an interview and get bodied by fucking Kevin Roose. This is a guy who is 1. a fucking idiot 2. in the tank for the tech industry to a degree that's gross even in the NYT

The thing that immediately jumps out from the Roblox interview is like, 'media trained too close to the sun.'

Puzzle game where you play as a party of explorers lost and trapped in the arctic. You're just about to start eating one another, but everyone has weird dietary preferences so you must carefully arrange the cannibalism order of operations.

the only way im gonna find out that a mihoyo game is out is by logging into twitter and seeing artists posting the same 6 character archetypes in a different kind of outfit this time in between chitter chatter of the algorithm really putting the screws in this time

#mtg Yeah, not particularly loving TLA limited; the format seems really dominated by a subset of excessively powerful rares, and generally feels extremely snowball-y.

It is funny that this paper (on rhyming prompts supposedly "jailbreaking" LLMs more successfully than prose) begins by alluding to Plato's republic making poetry illegal, which I presume is also going to be the policy response to wide adoption of this type of attack against slop machines.

If you missed it I solved the problem of defining "immersive sim" last night in a fugue state
Okay, in fairness, this is only my own work and not the result of a conference. But in unfairness: I thought it would be funniest to just plant this flag as soon as possible.
